Pool renovation continues...
The Wet Edge crew just left! The Signature Matrix Tahoe bags on the truck were black, gold and white. They also brought out two glass bead blends I asked to look at, Sea Mist and Sapphire Blend. The colors in the Sapphire Blend were extraordinary and went so nicely with the glass tile I have on the raised planter. The Sea Mist glass was just light blue and looked very different in pictures. I'm so glad I got to see it in person before deciding. I chose the glass beads instead of abalone shell. I think the abalone is gorgeous but was afraid of some of the issues others have had with it. The glass beads went into the mix and then they also hand casted more over the sunshelf and bottom of the pool. Can't wait to see the water color after chemicals are in and adjusted! Tomorrow acid wash and fill 👍

Nice! Please post some update pics once water is filled and balanced! I'm debating between the Tahoe and Carribean. Probably just going to have to throw a dart at the wall blindfolded and que sera sera.

Wet Edge Signature Matrix is beautiful --- we have Cadet Blue and it's amazingly beautiful in sun or shade....and with the TFP method, it's clear as glass. You will be happy with either of those choices, I believe.

I definitely will! Both Caribbean and Cadet were on our radar. We were looking for a medium aqua water color and Tahoe seemed to be the closest to what we were looking for. I'm hoping that's what we get! They are all very similar. I believe Tahoe has more black pebble, Cadet has blue pebble and Caribbean seems to have a brighter blue base. We are going from a black bottom quartz pool to this so I'm partial to the slightly blue gray base and black pebble. I can't stop staring at these glass beads though. Even with the haze from the install they are glistening in the sun 😍 I'll be sure to post updated pics.

I'm also aiming for the medium aqua color. Leaning to Caribbean because I don't want to get too dark, but knowing that the color will fade over time, maybe Tahoe is the way to go if it fades into something lighter and closer to my "ideal" in a few years. Reality is that both are nice and I'd be happy with either. Ahh! Decisions, decisions...

Here's Cadet Blue on a cloudy day, with partial shade in AZ. Since our theme is "tiki" we were torn between Cadet and Caribbean but thought the latter was a little to green.... but they are ALL gorgeious!!!

How did you get your PB to give you the glass beads with the signature matrix and not "upgrading" you to the Prism Matrix line or Serenity Stone"

We went through a pool renovation company who is also 1 of 5 certified installers for Wet Edge in our state. They came highly recommended directly through Wet Edge corporate. I went directly through the installer rather than hiring a pool company who would've just subcontracted them out to me anyway and they have their own renovation division. I originally inquired about adding abalone shell to add some sparkle, but after sharing my concerns with him regarding the abalone (lots to read about that on here) he suggested the glass bead. Everything comes in separate bags before they mix the plaster to install. I simply paid a small up charge to have the beads added into my Tahoe mix. Two 40 lb bags went in and they also hand casted it over the floor, sun shelf, bench and steps. Remember, most of the Prism Matrix has abalone in it and I did not want any of the shell in my finish. The company I went through was very fair. It probably would have cost me an arm and a leg to have to upgrade to the Prism line through a pool builder just to get glass beads.

I got some full sun pictures today! When the sun comes back out 😑 I'll try to capture the beads glistening on the sunshelf 😍

Our theme was tiki when we had our black bottom finish. I'm almost thinking my tikis don't go with this new look we have. I think I'm going to have to switch from "tiki" to "tropical" 😂 I have SO. MUCH. tiki stuff... planters, tiki masks on the wall in the lanai, statues and even a thatch style umbrella 🙄 New outdoor deco is coming. After writing the final check to the pool builder, I also just broke the news to my husband that we are getting the pavers sealed again. They are so faded.
