BUBBLING from the jets

My pool just suffered significant damage to the freeze. We've replaced all 3 pumps plus many valves and diverters. We had to bypass the heater but the pool is now running. 3 jets closest to the equipment pad (Main in the spa plus 2 others) have significant bubbling. All other jets seem normal. If my pressure gage still works correctly it seems like the pressure is lower than pre-storm/repair. Water level and skimmer doors are OK.

What could be wrong? Pool guy wants payment but I'm assuming this bubbling is related to the equipment install. Is that fair?

Appreciate any guidance.

Look at the pump basket lids. Is there air in them? There should not be air coming out of the returns.

Post your pictures to the TFP site. Many do not like clicking on blind links for pictures. Me included.

I'm sorry, I just tried adding photos to this site and it says everything is too large. I've now added pics to the link. As you might imagine, I am hearing gurgling from the jets .... but I'm assuming the ones not bubbling are coming from a different source (valve/pipe/diverter) or something. Thanks

And my lack of pool terminology is really showing ... I thought the returns you were referencing were what took water to the skimmer baskets to return to the filter

Yes, I have bubbles coming through 1 of the jets in the spa (return) plus 2 of the pool ones. The rest are fine.

Returns are where the water 'returns' to the pool. Suction is where the water is 'suctioned' from the pool.

Is there air under the pump basket lids? When running.

You may be sol in my issue. The pool guy told me it's not his work, but some other issue which is why I've not paid yet. It never did this. I was afraid I had broken/cracked pipes due to the storm.

I see what looks like a lot of bubbles in the new intelliflo VS pump. I also see high water flow in one valve, but what looks like bubbles in the other after the chlorinator.

1 pic and 1 vid below.. thank you!!!

That pump has a suction side air leak. Easiest thing is to check the pump basket lid and gasket. Be sure it is well lubricated with Silicone non-PTFE pool lubricant. Also check the two drain plugs on the pump. Lubricate those Orings too.
I assume the air seen in those check valves is from that pump.

I would doubt it is a leak underground. Normally those would be bad enough the pump would not prime.

Thank you - I'll go get some of that lubricant. All the pumps are new, all of them - but none appear to have lubricant from my touch.

Just to confirm - does the air make it out of the returns 'quickly' and that would explain why all the other returns don't have any bubbling except the 3 closest to the equipment pad?

Once again, I truly appreciate it.

The air will typically come out the returns closest to the pump. Try plugging the returns close to the pump and see if the air goes to the other returns. Returns should be looped such that the flow is balanced across them.
