O/B in Gilbert, AZ for 2nd time

I am just up the road from you and that is close to my tap water reading - except my pH is a little lower.
CH of 225-250 is normal out of the tap
TA of 130 is also normal out of the tap
Your pH in your newly filled pool is 8.2+ cause, well, its a fresh fill and brand spanking new plaster.

Hopefully you will be present when the start up is done. Be sure to write down any and all things they add.

Yesterday was a stressful day. We had a guy come to do start up and after he got here all he did was say he, couldn't do that, to everything. He hadn't seen A Venturi skimmer and didn't know what to do with it. He couldn't do Intellicenter and we needed to call Pentair to set it up. Couldn't do the waterfall or the blower or thermostat. Thankfully he left but we had to scramble up find someone who could come out because we didn't want to wait anymore. Thankfully we did and he was great. Very knowledgeable. It was so nice to see water moving, lights on and no leaks. He added CYA to the skimmer basket, about 9lbs. He threw in a floater with pucks. Not my first choice but it's fine for now until I can test it. I was going to this morning but deck guys showed up to put the acrylic on. We'll go out tonight, carefully in socks, and get water to test then add what's needed then.

That right there added 70 ppm CYA. You need to be mindful of the trichlor usage.

Will need to wait at least a week prior to testing CYA. Much of it is still stuck in the cartridge filters slowly dissolving.

@viper02 I'm not sure. My nephew was telling my husband about his and he liked the idea of it. He was very opposed to getting 2 skimmers so this is what we did instead.

We have the Ventri skimmer -- It moves water fast and I will say with this Texas Winter Storm it's still moving the water and doing a good job. That was one equipment item I didn't study up on. But when they said the pool is easier to care for, I was all in. We have two skimmers and a central bottom drain.

Our pool manager that stepped up when doing the start up -- He was good -- But I didn't want those pucks in the skimmers so I took them out and dumped them. Go me ) And with this weather and all we haven't seen the pool guy since. .. Sunday? Saturday? And our pool school was to be Thursday, tomorrow. Obviously that's not happening, we have an icy deck.

Question on the TA test. Is it when the water shows a hint of turning red? Or when the test water changes from pink to a deeper pink red? We have a high alkalinity here and I kept adding drops and drops and then it took forever to change. Curious since you're doing all this early testing, too.

About a month ago I tested my water and posted pictures of that test to see if I was getting the right color. One person said, bright, Barbie pink.

Got the deck done. It's Reflecto-Seal in Greystone. It is almost the same color as our house. Wish it had been a bit more grey but it's a good neutral. This product is supposed to be 15 degrees cooler than their standard formula 🤞🏻. So now the only thing we have left is landscaping.

I don’t think those grow here but I’m allergic to junipers. We will get a couple of palm trees and lantana. We already have hibiscus. When we built we had to relocate some of the plants along the wall. I’m hoping they will survive another replanting.

I really like your decking. What’s your pool coating? Is it pebble fina Bella blue?
