I am a little concerned with the quality of screen install in process on my pool. I asked the installer why he was floating the screens over the cross beams instead of splinning and cutting in the cross members on ceiling and walls he told me it’s normal this is how they do it.

hmmm, looks like a shortcut to me. Hopefully someone that has had a screen put in recently in Tampa/St. Pete can weigh in...I am curious on the answer as well.

After looking at all the pictures, I'm pretty sure that's how they did ours. That said, our contractor friend who was helping keep an eye on things, didn't mention that, but did call out other issues with the screen enclosure, that did get addressed. So I don't know if it's common or not, but neither our GC friend or the county inspector (who we loaned a ladder so he could go on the roof), said anything about it.
Won't pretend to be an expert, but I would think that individual panels would be more secure in high winds, and less costly to replace if and when a panel gets a hole in it. During Irma, we had one rip in our screen, cost us $100 to have one panel replaced and we were on our way. At a minimum with this setup, someone would have to cut out the bad material, connect to one of the cross beams, and replace a smaller portion.
Preparing for our new build, I just took down a small screen enclosure myself as well and it also had individual panels. So, 2 different companies here in Central FL , both using single-panels for everything.
I dont know that it would be a deal breaker, I am certain that it's easier for them... if they stand behind it, ask if they will give an extended warranty in lieu of doing them individually? I honestly don't know if I would press it because they will be annoyed that they are "doing something special" for you and likely not do a good job.

looks good. i am curious what size sheer did you go with, and what brand? do you know the model number? i am looking into them right now but trying to find a place to purchase or just pricing on a 4ft one.

That looks like some lazy work. On my cage each square is an individual panel. When you need to replace a screen (you will eventually have to) it’s going to be expensive. They’re just being lazy. I would tell them they need to fix it. And mention it to the inspector. The pool cage is on a permit by itself.

I called my PB and sent him pics of what the slackers were doing and literally the next morning the owner showed up and I noticed they started putting it in right.

My pool will be 27 X 15 and the two microbrites are going to be on opposite ends (one in shallow and other deep). Hoping that provides enough light.
@Skiddy Thank you so much for posting your lit pool pictures. I am stressing if 2 microbrites will be enough for 14x26 and looking at your pictures it looks perfect.

A few disappointing updates while we wait for final inspection. I cant figure out the tapping noise coming from the heater but while its not that loud its noticeable and annoys my wife a lot. It only makes the noise when the pump is running but not necessarily the heater?
The gutters they built and attached the screen enclosure too were not put up right. I have been noticing a drip where the corners meet into the pool. I climbed on the roof to look for the leak and to my disappointment the gutters were holding about 3" of water where the two corners meet. This is why there is a drip still two days after the last rain. This is BS. They should be draining away from this point. I hope all of you have better luck with your pool builders subs than I am, because mine have been straight up garbage.
