Hi, I’m looking a building IG pool. I grew up in MS with a vinyl pool. I now live in So Cal and there are many choices. Fiberglass? Vinyl? Concrete/plaster or grunite ? I want something simple. I want salt water filter and robot cleaner. Thoughts? Suggestions? I want to be able to swim laps.

I believe you will find in S Cal gunite pools are the most prevalent.
Swimming laps means having a swim lane. Be sure it is 4+ feet deep and as long as you can make it. And a gunite pool would be most likely to be able to meet that criteria.

A FG pool is usually the least expensive but you are limited in sizes and shapes.
A gunite pool is the most expensive but you can build anything your wallet can fund.
