Leaking Connection

Hey all, just got our Intex 18'x52" pool set up yesterday. After we got out of the pool today we noticed that the connection of the pipe coming from the pool into the pre-filter assembly (see circled in attached picture) was leaking. I started tightening the nut and after it turned a little it popped back off some. So I had to tighten it again. Same thing, it popped back loose. It seems like I can tighten maybe enough to be ok, but I'm not sure. Will it keep loosening on its own? Is this going to be a problem? Do I need to get replacement parts? I also attached a pic of the model.

It sounds as though you may have reached the end of the plastic threads on either the pump basket inlet or the hose nut itself. So it might never get really "tight" and will pop backwards as you described. If I recall, those pieces are designed to seal with only the O-ring within the threaded nut right? I don't recall if that one requires pool silicone, but I suppose you could try some silicone on it anyways. A last-ditch effort of a few wraps of Teflon tape might worth a try as well. If the leak is only an occasional drip I suppose you could live with it. If it's dripping quickly and/or none of those things works, you may need to contact the seller or manufacture.

There is what they call an "L-Shape O-Ring" that is on the filter side of the connection (see pic). There is still a couple threads visible when it pops back. All of the other connections have the same o-ring set up and I'm able to hand tighten as hard as I can manage without this happening. It doesn't leak constantly. It was just leaking that one time, and it was coming out pretty good, but that's because the nut loosened a lot. When I tried to tighten it again is when it started popping back. I'm just not able to hand tighten it as I am the rest of them. I guess we'll have to contact Intex.
