Possible New Pool In Central FL

Wanted to bump this up and also ask what height should we raise the spa to. Currently at 12" and we think we're happy but also thinking maybe 18"

In answer to a previous question, we have a relatively substantial water feature, powered by it's own 5 hp pump. We run it a lot!..whether we're using in the pool or just socializing and using the waterfall for ambiance. Though it's adjustable, it runs full flow 99% of the time. The sound is very pleasant and has never interfered with normal conversation around the pool. (Inside the grotto however, behind the falling water, different story. It's very loud)
There are four intakes feeding the pump, They're located in the deep end, on the side wall, two on each side of the pool. They're about 8 feet down (about 2 feet from the bottom). I could be wrong, but my guess is that each pair is plumbed like main drains for safety purposes.

Thanks for the replies I'll set up a trial seat and see what we like.

Regarding the water feature the wife said "I want them"

So we were looking at tiles and stuff so we could get an idea of cost and each place we went to gave u samples so we started playing around with that. What does everyone thing of the combination attached for coping and waterline? We were looking at Tremron Glacier pavers and around a sapphire blue pool interior.

I think the coping is tumbled marble.

That is one of my fav tiles!! I LOVE 1x2 then you add in the color you get some special BLING!!!

I also like the coping. Just make sure they are not a slippy as they look.

Now with the bling tile..........here are two things to think about...........the mortar under these tile will change it's look. Get some paint cards....white, off white, light and dark gray. See which one you like the best. Next is the grout. They should have grout sticks you can play with.....white will make each tile stand out while gray with help them blend in more. Both are very pretty so it is personal choose!

I plan to put water on the coping and see what it's like. We like the waterline tile but we're not sure about the "gold" aspect to it. See the image of the 2nd half of the file sheet on top of a different coping.

I see what you are seeing and agree. Those stand out and not in a good way............now if you cannot find any all blue tones then you could cut out the gold pieces and insert a blue one in it's place. That will be extra work but it is a possibility

The first one kind of reminds me of the tile I got for my backsplash in the kitchen. I prefer the first one you posted personally. I like the color variations.

Guy,

All your equipment looks great to me except your filter..

I don't understand the Florida fascination with dinky filters... The bigger the filter the less often you have to clean it.. I would go with a CCP 420 or 520.

I swear that I can tell by just looking at the equipment pad whether the pool is in Florida or not...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim - Thanks for the feedback I just picked a filter without knowing too much about it. Question.... Since I'm looking at running 2 pumps and thus 2 filters. Should I go with the same filter for both or does the water features not require such a large filter? Trying to do our best to control costs but not cut out quality.

guy,

The main filter gets dirty because it is sucking water out of the skimmers most of the time.. This is where most of the dirt, bugs, and other floating things come from. So I recommend a large filter. Your water features should suck water from the main drain or similar grates in the bottom of the pool, so a smaller filter should work fine. I'd use your original 200 there.

I would put the 200 out front somewhere and hide the 420 so it can't be seen.. Otherwise they may kick you out of Florida...

Thanks,

Jim R.
