I replaced my backup valve, cleaned the mesh strainer, backwashed my filter, and my Polaris won’t move! No pressure at all through the backup valve. Any ideas?
Everything seems to be working and there doesn’t seem to be any hose leaks, but there’s pressure coming from the base of the black knob at the wall connection. When I cover it with my hand the Polaris moves, but I can’t budge it to see if it needs to be sealed or tightened or what!
That is a pressure relief valve in the UWF (Universal Wall Fitting). Sounds like you are losing all your pressure through it. If you can’t fix it then replace the valve.
If you take the blue top off and watch the piston you will see that it goes back and forth. Mine is new. It sticks on backwards motion and spend little time jetting via forward propulsion jets. It gets stuck in a heap of hose near the supply connection. This is my 3rd Polaris in 7 years. I called the company and they basically want me to fix it. I bought on credit card so I will stop payment. Maybe they will send me a new unit. My arthritis is too bad to let me repair it.
