Not sure if this is the right forum for electrical or not so feel free to move if need be. I just bought a new Hayward 1.5 hp sand filter and pump and wanting to set it nearby the pool. I know it must be at least 6 ft away from the oool. The old one was in a shed about 60 ft away and uphill. I need to run electric down to it from the breaker box in the shed. I have researched it but read something different everywhere. I plan to have it trenched and will be using pvc conduit. I have questions like what wire should I run. 10/2? 12/2? I have seen where some say to use individual wire. What wire do I really need? The breaker the old pump was on is a 30 amp. Do I need to switch it to a 20 amp? Also any particular suggestions for a weatherproof box and gfci outlet at the pool? Any other suggestions or help would be appreciated! Thanks!
