Should I rebuild or replace my Jandy Valves?

Hello all.

Just joined and found the site by searching for info about my Pools Valves and trying to figure out whether I had Positive, or Non-Positive seals. I have Positive.

Now, my searching around the net, since none of the local suppliers have parts, only complete valves, I've discovered I could either buy the Diverter valve part for about $35, or I could buy the entire Jandy Space Saver Valves for about $45. Mine are the older Grey 3 point units and they're about 20, or so years old and I didn't know that I was supposed to lube them periodically so the rubber seal on them are shot and don't really seal very well.

I've also noticed the Black, Never-Lube valves are about the same price.

So, I'm wondering if I wouldn't be better off replacing the older units with the newer Never-Lube units since it costs nearly as much as it would cost to just replace the internals of the original units.

Are there any significant advantages to the Never-Lube over the Space Saver units?

Here's a shot of my setup to give you an idea. I'm handy and not afraid of cutting and refitting pipe. Over the years, I have quite a collection of pipe and fittings in the garage.

Thanks all in advance for your input and advice. I appreciate all that I get.

If you are comfortable doing the PVC work I would replace them with the black Neverlube valves.

It seems it’d be a lot of work to entirely replace the valves, if the casing is fine. Yours appear to be the space saver models, just in grey color, right? There are rebuild parts, (found this listing for part #s), and you’d just need the diverter 3483 and a simple o-ring kit.
I replaced my diverter to the Neverlube and it’s less hassle later on, but if you have the space saver ones and can’t replace with never lubes, it’s probably a better alternative than to completely cut out and install all new valves with lots of couplings and such.

I wonder if the Never Lube diverters can be used in the Space Saver Cases?

Update:

I emailed Jandy, and I'm waiting for their response, but, I was online last night and found a mention that the grey space saver valves internal dimensions were smaller than the other Grey valves or the Never Lube valves so I don't think I can use the newer diverters in the SpaceSaver valves.
