Omnilogic programming help

I've had an omnilogic for a while. I installed everything, then the local Hayward rep came out and programmed it. I am decent with electronics and tech, but I have always found the omnilogic to be not very intuitive. The intial programming has been fine, until now I want to edit something. When we initially programmed I believe I told the rep that the heater won't ever be used for pool, only the spa. I now want to have the option of heating the pool. For the life of me, I can't figure it out.

My pool equip is plumbed with the option to bypass the heater. Meaning the pump/filter doesn't normally flow through the heater, only when I put on the heat for the spa does a valve allow the water to flow through the heater. As a result I believe the Hayward rep programmed the following two interlocks (which I found in the programming).

1. If spa filter pump is on, spa bypass heat is on. if filter pump is off, bypass heat is off. bypass heat cannot be controlled independantly.

2. if pool filter is on, then spa bypass heat is forced off and prevented from turning on. if filter pump is off, then bypass heat is unaffected.

I was able to delete #2 in the config wizard interlock tab. (I think I needed that deleted in an effort to get the pool heated)

What I need to happen is for the heater bypass valve to move so that water goes through the heater when I tell the omnilogic to heat the pool. I think that will enable the pool to heat. However, I have no idea where to program that into the omnilogic. I have looked through the two manuals that come with the omnilogic with NO success. I also want to ensure that when the heat is off for the pool and/or spa the bypass heater valve stays actuated (ie the heater remains bypassed) - (which is how it is currently programmed).

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks

I do (although Pro Logic) but either way, unfortunately, I’m a no go for assistance with this level of programming. Having access to that Hayward rep would be nice if you can get it for free.

Mine was programmed by a retired Hayward regional service manager who then started doing his own thing in retirement (my PB used his services for Pool School). I’ll PM you his name and you might try to contact him just for kicks. You never know. Catch him on a day he feels like talking and maybe you get your answer.

But hopefully someone will be along who can assist you here quicker.
