Greetings Gents, it's me again with more foolish Questions....
Here's my dilemma. My filter pump is leaking on the pressure side, where the water is pushed to the filter. There appears to be a threaded PVC pipe which threads into the pump housing. It looks to me as though a new piece will probably need to be threaded into the housing, along with a high PSI gasket or goop or something.
Now, I am not a rocket surgeon by any stretch but I do manage to keep most of my junk working, sorta. HOW does one thread a piece into this housing and then GLUE the other end into a piece of PVC pipe? Is there a slow cure PVC cement? I say this because the only PVC cement I have ever used has a working time of about two seconds. The threaded piece comes out vertically from the housing and then has a 90-degree bend. I am flummoxed.
Where is the best place to cut the existing pipe(s) to affect / effect a repair?
For some reason, I am unable to attach a pic. Frustrated beyond words at this point.
