Black tile stain removal

Guys

Totally new here so Hi!

Any ideas for cleaning the back stains from my waterline tile and grout? I’ve tried brushes, pumice etc etc.

Is that really tile? I see no support behind it. I think I can help with the stains but help us first with what is behind that "tile"

Yes, it’s really tile. It’s kind of a faux negative edge design...see photo.

Wow! That is very unique and EASY to look at......I like it!

I think what you have in your grout is some mold and perhaps algae.....doesn't really matter WHAT it is, just how to get rid of it.

I would take a spray bottle filled with 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water and simply go around the edge spraying that solution directly on the spot and then brushing with a deck brush.

That may not get it all so you could try some abrasive cleaner (like Comet) used sparingly. Last resort would be to apply muriatic acid but I think you will have most if not all of the stain removed before you need to try acid.

Well...the beach solution didn't seem to do anything nor the Comet! How would I use the muriatic acid ? In a spray bottle too...diluted or full strength?

Try a eyedropper with a 50/50 solution, if it works, you might want to use a squeeze bottle instead of spraying, remember to check your PH as your cleaning
