WOWER! That looks awesome! The finishing touch for sure! Did you pick out all of the plants? Whoever did are great!

I have a photo challenge for you! Try to find a way to get the inlay and fireplace in one pic so you can really see the inlay. THEN one where all three are in the pic-pool, fireplace, and inlay!

Thank you! We left the landscaping up to a professional! I'm glad because they had to redo all the sprinklers and sod and plant those Gynormus trees/bushes with an auger! It would taken us a year to do all that or a thrown out back--Don't want to overestimate my ability to do hard labor! Years ago I might have done it!

What do you mean by Inlay=??

Thanks!

I bet that WAS a lot of work and OH so worth it to hire it out!

Inlay=stamp=compass rose

Kim:kim:

Yes got it now! I believe it took two days for them to correct and rebuild sprinklers where they had been capped or cut.

The PB still has to come back and stain the concrete a Mocha color and we want the compass rose to pop with several colors.

Looking for ideas for next spring for furniture and layout ideas around the fireplace. Anyone with ideas great apprecitated???

Thanks in advance!

These are items to be addresses tomorrow with the pool builder...I welcome any comments by those in the know or had similar experiences. Please chime away:

1. Deck staining with mocha stain. According to: https://www.concretenetwork.com/fix-concrete-sealing/sealing-concrete-in-cold-weather.html “As a general rule, 50 degrees F is the minimum ambient air and surface temperature needed when applying most concrete sealers and coatings. All sealers and coatings have a minimum film-forming temperature, or MFT. When the temperature falls below the MFT, cross-linking does not occur and the sealer film does not come together properly. Typical signs that the sealer MFT was not met include white hazing, white dusting, and delaminating.”
2. Back wash drainage. Current set up has the pool being backwashed into our air conditioning unit. We would like the backwash to tie into drainage system Mid State Pools constructed to drain excess water out the back of the yard.
3. Small leak in the far-left pump. Mike indicated it needed to be a collar tightened to eliminate water leaking on the concrete pad when the pump is running.
4. Hot tub grates are white while grates in the pool are grey. Would like matching color grey grates for a uniform appearance. Also replace the white pressure release valves on the hot tub to either brown or black to blend in with the Oklahoma flagstone.
5. Of the three fountains, the middle fountain is visibly weaker than the other two. We paid $1500 to upgrade having an additional pump to turn on the spillway and fountain at the same time, however, once that was accomplished the middle fountain pressure was notably worse. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying more money and receiving less. That was not explained to us before we committed the money to have the upgrade. Can it be rectified?
6. Spillway is not consistent with overflow and is pouring on the rocks below the spillway. Mike indicated the spillway needed to be sanded down to achieve a uniform flow.
7. We need to know how to treat the pool. How often do we take water tests? When do we back wash the pool? How do we insert chlorine tablets? Everything for water maintenance needs to be discussed.

Personally I would skip #7. Follow TFPC. Builders typically have little chemistry knowledge.

Also, you do not show what type filter. Though, I doubt you want the solids from the filter to be put into your drainage system.

Take care.

#7 I have covered. Go back to page 2, post 24............I gave you a set of links that will take care of all of that! Did you order a test kit yet? If not please do so asap. Look in my siggy for the one I think is the best bang for the buck. You could also order a Taylor 2006 but it does not have as much of the regents we use most often. You and I can have our own pool school to help you with the tests. I have some tips and tricks to make it even easier!

The fountains-I would hope they can adjust the flow and fix that. Stay on them until they fine tune it how you like it.

White grates should be gray to make it all match. That should be easy for them to change.

Here is a great night shot of the spa we took. It has been very so cold here that we haven't been in spa in weeks! The good thing about building in the fall is that ALL the mess is gone and we can anticipate when warm weather comes in that we will finally have our first pool season!

We opted to save money and stain the deck ourselves. We have tons of work to get completed once the weather warms up! We have to prep and re-stain the deck and the new virgin wood stairs & wooden fence. Will post pics of before and after!

We have contacted a contractor to put in under decking system once we have the stain work completed. It's amazing how much of an eyesore the deck is since we have put the pool in!

We bought out test kit though TFP!

You really should send that pic to Veuve Clicquot Champagne! I bet they would LOVE to use it in an ad! That is outstanding!

Luv your pool build. BTW is that a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne? You have excellent taste:cheers:

Thanks!!!! Yummy Champagne for sure!!!!

Happy Easter!

We are moving right along with some more progress!
It seems like once you get the pool build in place then everything else needs to be upgraded. We contracted our stone mason to do some columns and the area at the end we will add an outdoor kitchen in the fall. They removed the ceiling fans and we will have electrician hang new ones in several weeks. I think it made a HUGE improvement!!!! We are still building the post for the lighting but had to drop wires in place before the underdecking was done.
Here are some pictures on underdecking with a gutter system we had installed several days ago for a water proof out door space. Before and after:-Dbefore.jpg:-D:-D2 underdeck.jpgunderdeck.jpgDSC03007.jpg
