Turns out the 3 Way Switch is a Dry Relay. So, looking some devices that will possibly do that now.

I see now! Thanks. You double up on the N and L, rather than COM1 and COM2- though it shouldn't make a difference. Looks like either set up might be alright- maybe I should rewire the unit, and then consider a defective one. :\
