New Filter Time Questions, From DE to Cartridge

I currently have a Hayward Perflex EC65 DE filter that has failed and I'm planning to switch to a cartridge filter cuz I don't want to deal with DE anymore. The perflex filter is small, and my pool is only about 17k gallons so I dont think I need a large filter, but I'm curious if a quad...

    Zodiac MX6 (elite) review

MX8 Elite owner here, when its time for some refresh parts, you can save a bit buying brand X bearings, they arent as smooth spinning them by hand, but the cleaner works just as good with them. Been very happy with mine as well, having a canister to collect all the junk is a great addition to them.

Has anyone replaced a vinyl liner with RubberizeIt?

Theres a lot of neat looking stuff out there to replace vinyl liners, I saw a video of some german company that put these plastic looking sheets in and heated them together to make 1 waterproof piece for pools. But it doesnt seem like a large enough group of people go for alternatives to get...

Its time to allow the word that crud replaces

As long as it highlights or shows you the word thats an issue I don't mind, I hate when I have to guess which word is bad.

    Merlin Safety Cover - Padding

We're on our second safety cover now, the first cover failed before having to worry about replacing the springs but you can find them online all over. We had a Lopp Loc and now a Latham, springs seem mostly the same. the straps the springs connect to might be loose, or maybe you had heavier...

Soundproofing material for pump enclosure with wifi devices

4 standard APs wired into a router? There are many wifi range extenders that plug into an outlet, connect to your network via wifi so you dont need to run a cable to them. Just need an interior outlet in a good spot between the closetest AP or your router and the pump enclosure. With 4 APs...

Plumber used flexible PVC - anything I can do now?

My pool is over 30 years old, in an area with high termite activity, has a stretch underground in dirt about 20-30ft long with flex PVC and there have been no issues with it. I wouldn't start freaking out just because you have it.

    Filter experiment a success!

I'm 100% in on the hair net/skimmer net stuff. The combination of that and vacuuming with a canister in the line as well means I can get away with 1 to 2 DE charges a season. I support ye, space squirrel

Winterizing Question - How low do you go?

I lower mine below the returns, blow the water out, raise it back up so that water reaches my top step, so it doesnt get stained by dirt getting in. I also don't have tile to worry about.

Any advice on a good (but fairly portable) power sprayer for concrete pool deck?

Concrete deck would be fine. I got a Generac 3200 psi unit and use a surface cleaner attachment on the concrete and it does great. The important thing is, if your pressure washer is 1600, 2000, or 3000 psi, you want to make sure that the surface cleaner you get for it is rated/advertised to...

    DE Filter Not Coating

Only really important thing to make sure of as far as DE quality goes, is to make sure its pool grade DE and not meant for food or use as insecticide.

Solar Reel and Cover in the winter

So we got a rocky roller this year and its very nice, but now I'm thinking about winter and what I am gonna do with this. Unscrewing the straps from the reel and folding the cover seems problematic, and I'm worried that if I put a cover on it and leave it out all winter that mice will make a...

Pool Cleaners (robot, etc)- how long have you had yours?

Barracuda MX8 and a hayward canister plus conversion connectors, 3ish years, started to slowdown and not climb the walls this season so I replaced what they call the engine assembly($30) and it was all good again. I will never go back to manual vacuuming.

How to program variable speed pump with Zodiac Barracuda

My pool has a min drain and one skimmer as well. I calibrated my Barracuda MX8 with the main drain closed and the skimmer on full. I have my pump set to run at 1400 RPMs for 8 hours so when I want to run the MX8 I put it in for that time period and override the RPMs for that day/time period.
