No offense taken. I definitely have the right parts and they are installed in the correct orientation. What I did not do is wipe down the surfaces of the seals. I will try again with another new shaft seal along with RTV between the seal and seal plate. Thank you

I ended up taking my hayward sharkvac Xl (or something similar to that name) back after two weeks and they gave me full credit and I bought a Dolphin S300 instead. The S300 is significantly better.

Butterfly, Thanks--- I'll get some vitamin C and give it a try and report back. I'll also work on boosting the CH based on what you said about fiberglass. Are there less expensive alternatives to boosting CH or is the pool store the only place to get the stuff? Thanks
