    Hayward Ecostar runs loud

The Pentair 3HP InteliFlo seems to be the best pump w the least amt of problems, per many users on this forum. You'd also achieve .3 for HP from 2.7 to 3. I believe running your pump at a constant RPM of 1000 has been most beneficial. Anything over 2950/3000 causes excessive heat. However...

    Hayward Ecostar runs loud

Thanks James. Aaron, when you are evaluating your choices, the information above is definitely something you should read...IMHO, buying any Hayward VSP w 2.7HP, it would be most inauspicious not to have the max warranty possible.

    Ecostar Motor Replacement

Asand, have you made a decision on what you're going to do w your current pump? Since you do not have automation, you can go w any new pump. I would HIGHLY consider the Pentair line of pumps too. Last thing. Since your ecostar is 7 yrs old, buying an expensive part for it is like replacing...

    Hayward Ecostar runs loud

Aaron, First, for having any EcoStar Model for 9 yrs, you are the profound winner of the longest running EcoStar in Haywards history [I have had 4 ecostars, 3 drives and more in 5 yrs 2015-2020]. Next, any money you spend on this pump will be following a much longer money trail. As James...

    Pool filling itself :)

Just for grins...go buy a 5gal plastic bucket at one of the big box stores. Take a black sharpie and make a line 1” from the top. Fill the bucket up to the line. Then observe both pool water line & bucket line and report back in one month...

    Is this feasible ?

The pool has not been plastered yet...still gunite and dirt or no decking yet either. also, the pool is a free form or kidney shape and the coping widths are about 10” in length all w linear straight edges. This means the edge of the interior coping does not follow the free form contours of...

    Is this feasible ?

Hello to all, Have some nbors that are having a pool installed and the coping is a 1" thick tumbled travertine, a light greyish color. The edge of the travertine on the pool side is squared w an overhang. They really didn't want [or know to ask at this point] a sq'ed edge and would have...

Error Code on Heater / how to resolve

James, Do you recommend that I at least install it to see if it corrects the error? Just don't want to damage it in any way...thanks again

Error Code on Heater / how to resolve

The one that's in the heater now is not like this...I am going to send it back and make note that before the replacement is sent, that it needs to better checked...I have seen many printer circuit boards and have never seen this...

Error Code on Heater / how to resolve

Just received the display board but wanted to run this by the electronic folks to see if there’s an issue. The side of the board w the components seems to have a raised “bubble-like” area where the plastic “shrink-wrap” did not adhere down to the green surface of the board. Is this going to be...

    Options for waterproofing electrical cord

thanks....it's 5-6 yrs old so instead of going w a $200+ new cord, probably better to invest into a new one...a dolphin from what I read seems to be the best. note, w a pebble sheen finish, it is tough on all materials in the water...but a pebble tech [the roughest] is probably the worst of all...

    Options for waterproofing electrical cord

Our Hayward robotic shark has a tear in the insulating wrap of the power cord where it attaches to the shark. Pics enclosed. i had left the shark in the water for 4-5 days straight and it worked fine for 4 hrs before i pulled it out. So nothing yet re electrical short. Also, the cord has...

Error Code on Heater / how to resolve

Well, part came early and i installed the keypad assembly and it immediately went to “bo” upon turning the pump on so i thought i was home free. Then it turned back to the error code in about 5-10 secs.. So i guess I’m ordering the display board. I’ll try display board w old keypad assembly...
