My Pentair 011018 variable speed unit is 8 years old and just now starting to make some whining/groaning sound. Could be bearings; will have it checked out. Regardless, 8 years is a decent life and was a great unit!

Could be the drive unit. Mine went out after 3 years or so. Florida=lightning and power surges for me........luckily Pentair warrantied the unit and shipped me a new one.

I am interested in the Florida Sunseeker replacement for the 619818Z board. Anyone do the replacement in their light fixture? $250 sounds like a good option compared to a $400 board for an entire fixture swap at $550.
