    New Pool staining

Well I wanted to follow up to give closure on this issue. This year I opened to more of the same stain. And I decided to do the acid bath and I just got finished. I used this article http://www.poolgeniusnetwork.com/profiles/blogs/the-zero-alkalinity-acid-treatment - to help me calculate the...

    New Pool staining

Thank you so much for the responses. I will try the no drain acid wash after season. Odd thing is its not gray or dark, its yellow/brown in color. Not sure if gray mottling is also yellow/brown. I still have a hard time believing it is algae. My CC readings are always 0 or less than .5 and...

    New Pool staining

[attachment=0:1d3mtcjg]IMG_20130718_194825_006.jpg[/attachment:1d3mtcjg]I am going to reopen this problem as I have never really figured out what it is. I have spent this season trying to identify it, then got frustrated and left it. The water has always been sparkling crystal clear. I can...

    New Pool staining

So if I had to guess I would say the chlorine removed the stain better than the acid doing the test again. Jason, would your advise be to shock the pool according to pool school? I have the 6% bleach on hand. Odd thing is, the water is crystal clear and you can not rub off the stains. I just...

    New Pool staining

Well I used some granular pH down and put in a sock and put it over the stain held in place with a big rock and I also put granular chlorine in a sock and did the same for 12 hours. Honestly I really can tell if either one of them did anything to the stains. I sort of think the acid did more...

    New Pool staining

Ok I have read and read so much on stains that I am confused. I have a pool that is exactly one year old. I seem to have some greenish brown moulting staining on the deep end and it seems to be getting worse and I can not rub them off. And some light brown green stains in some rough plaster...

Did Pool Co. close my pool right?

We recently had a pool build and finished construction mid July of this year. Per the contract the pool co. is responsible for the first closing etc. I worked with them to close the pool so I had an idea of how it was done. Basically what they did was hook up a compressor to a plug in the...

    Is stamped concrete dangerously slick

We have brushed coping and stamped concrete deck. So far it is not slippery at all. Even when wet. I had fiber added to the mix, so maybe that had something to do with it.

    If only I had…

Not put in the Laminar deck jets. We hardly use them. We do however use the sunshelf with bubbling foot jets. I can get those to cascade 18" above water line. Kids love them and they look great. http://www.troublefreepool.com/our-pool-started-feb-28th-idaho-t29982.html I also wish we would...

    Pool Deck

I still have this to do as well. I will tackle this next year. The prep will be the most time consuming. I was going to use this product. http://www.hcconcrete.com/products/soli ... ed-sealer/ with an additive they call shark grip for slippage. It is a product you can get at a shermin...

    Newbie From Toronto Canada

We went with Gunite/Plaster, cost was about the same between liner and gunite. Cramar is right. We started the planning in Nov. of 2010 and started construction end of Feb 2011. It was a major up taking as it completely destroyed our back yard and route to the back yard. Winters come pretty...

Which Pool Mesh Safety Cover to buy?

Those are good points thank you so much. Hopefully I made a good choice, if not, you all will hear about it and hopefully it steers someone from this forum away from them. This is why I love this web site. Filled with personal experiences. The below is from the web page. Strength and...

Which Pool Mesh Safety Cover to buy?

All, Thanks so much for all your replies and help with this. I ended up going with HPI. I like the fact that the company had been around a while, they sew in the serial number on each cover so when time to replace, they can make up the cover exactly as it was sent to me. This means the...
