Thats the problem its losing prime and I did fill the hose with water and I keep the vacum and hose sumerged im just not sure what the problem is.

I recently opened pool up and have it in good shape.The problem Im having is when i hook up the vacum it sucks all the water out of the pump.Ive try to open the vent hule on the hose and it still loses sucken.Any suggestion,I tryed to backwash the pump still same thing,the filter has to be on...

I just got back from walmart with more bleech another 8 gallon,hopefully that will do it.

Well i can see a big improvement, but Ive used 18 large jugs of bleech is this normal?And it looks like im gonna need more.I had it checked this morning and everything was up to par the CYA was low still the FC was 3 ppm I think.

Edited for clarity by inserting paragraph breaks and breaking up run on sentences by TFP Moderator Well, it's a heavy gauge cord. I'm not sure about gauge, but its a 50' cord. I usally run my welder off of it. I havent really noticed it getting hot though while the pump is on.
