    Air bubbles in outflow

I re-greased all of the gaskets, and noticed one of my diverter valves were slightly off. Fixing the combination of those two things solved the problem. Thanks everyone for the fast support!

    Air bubbles in outflow

I just recently noticed air bubbles entering the pool through the pool jets. There’s also a significant amount of bubbles in the pump basket, and when the pump stops, the system loses its pine. I’ve had this happen in the past and the culprit was a leaky gasket on one of the valves leading to...

    Aqualink Clarification

Thanks for the reply. I’ll continue to test and see if it works properly

    Aqualink Clarification

Hi all! I have an Aqualink RS 2.0 system that is controlling a Pentair Mastertemp 400 heater. I am looking for clarification on exactly what to expect when in spa mode. I understand that the controller and its temperature sensor are controlling the heater. The heater is set to 104 so it...

Water Leak from DE Filter Control Valve

My control valve needed to be replaced. I ordered the valve and installed it. Since the pump can be on either side of the valve, it has two potential inlets and one plug. The plug I received fit very loosely, but the company said that was common and that the glue would work just fine. Well...

Should I SLAM or should I go?

I did another OCLT last night and no change. It's consuming Cl fast. I will up the CYA to 50 (high end recommendation from pool math). Any other thoughts? I have had great success with TFP. This plaster change just created a big change in what I have grown accustomed to seeing.

Should I SLAM or should I go?

Hello everyone! I just completed replacing the plaster in my pool with a pebble surface. It looks amazing! The job has been done for nearly two months, so I am out of my "curing" window. As a part of the work, a pool company was hired to monitor/maintain the pool while it was curing (first...

    Advice on a New Heater

I have a 7-8 year old Hayward H400 pool heater that started blowing steam out of the vent this season. I took that as a bad sign... Today is the first day that I've been able to take an outside look at the unit. What I noticed was that the outside metal panel below the water intake/outlet has...

    FC testing post-Jack's #2 Copper

Just so I'm not guessing - that would be 3-7ppm for FC? I'm assuming 20 is too high :)

    FC testing post-Jack's #2 Copper

Since there is a spa attached, at what point is it safe again to use the spa? Or am I closed for the season???

    FC testing post-Jack's #2 Copper

TF100 It's taking 40 drops for FC test and 60 for the CC to clear. SOP. I've tested it twice with similar results. I'm running out of reagents! The water is way too cold for any algae growth, so should I leave it alone for a week and see what happens? This Jacks#2 stuff is my source of CC.

    FC testing post-Jack's #2 Copper

So I need a sanity check. I've been SLAMing now for about a week, adding bleach at least twice a day to get my FC=24. After a week, I am now getting: FC=20 CC=30 I'm about to add bleach to get back to 24. I seem to be feeding the CC monster! That said, I have been adding less over time to...

Made an error during SLAM - Need advice

I am in the midst of SLAMing the pool I took a pH test and noticed it was super high. What I didn't realize is that the test is unreliable. The pH was 7.5 when I started. So, I added a bunch of acid to bring it down-which I don't believe was necessary. I expect that I'm somewhere around...

    FC testing post-Jack's #2 Copper

Got it! Thanks for the link to the post. One more question before I begin the SLAM process. Do high CL levels breakdown the sequesterant (The Purple Stuff) and re-release the metal into the water? If so, should I perform a filter change prior to SLAM? My copper source is our fill water, but...
