    EasyTouch4 to IntelliCenter Upgrade Questions

Sorry for the late reply Flipp. I used a Dremel-style tool with a cutoff wheel. Took less than 5 minutes to do it cleanly, and then used a rasp to clean up the sharp edges. Good luck!

    EasyTouch4 to IntelliCenter Upgrade Questions

Hi Flipp, that was my post, and to my knowledge, my process still applies because of the location of the SCG bracket in the "older" load center chassis. If you have reasonable hardware/mechanical DIY skills, removing the SCG bracket is simple. But you definitely need to understand basic...

    The AFS mystery lwarning

Have you checked to make sure the wiring from the switch to the board is good all the way? I'm assuming it wouldn't fire if there was a short or an open in that part of the circui, but I know that the wiring harness inside those heaters can wear over time. Beyond that, I'd be at a loss.

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

And then it hit me... When I installed the new load center, I rearranged the Aux circuits, and moved the IC40 off of the load side of Relay 1 to the load side of Relay 2 (Aux 1). Relay 2 is fed from the load side of Relay 1, so it will only pick when the pump is on. The "old" R2 was the...

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Ok...so I've turned off the "feature" setting for every aux, and the pump still won't turn off unless I put it into Service mode, then the controls work as desired. So this definitely has to be a setting I've got jacked up somewhere.

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Makes perfect sense. I'll check that when I get home. I pulled up my system on the IC Android app, but the Pump page above does not have the toggle you have circled above. If I can't find something simple this afternoon, I may just do a factory reset on the IC panel and run the wizard again...

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Comm connection is the cable that runs from the side of the VSF to the RS-485 port on the MB using the yellow and green wires. Appears that the OCP and the VSF are communicating since the pump shows "display not active," which I believe is correct when comm is working correctly. It's dark...

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Have not tried service mode. Dark now, so I'll try that tomorrow.

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

20A DP GFCI breaker feeds both LINE sides of #1 relay. VSF wired to both LINE sides of #1 relay (erroneously wrote LOAD side above). System transformer wired directly to both LINE sides of a 15A DP GFCI breaker. IntelliCenter powers up normally as does the VSF display panel. When breakers...

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Sorry...it is on the LINE side of the relay. And I looked at that word 10 times to make sure it said LINE! Anyway, once the pump motor started (the display always had power), it will not stop running regardless of the Intellicenter Pump on/off setting.

IntelliFlo VSF on IntelliCenter won't power off

Today I replaced my old EasyTouch load center with the new Intellicenter Load center so I could take advantage of the new breaker layout for some future upgrades. This project is step 2 in my move from EasyTouch to Intellicenter (that upgrade was completed earlier this year) to an advanced...

    Pentair SAM light fix

A quick note on the PoolTone lights I forgot to mention...they sell kits with varying lengths of wiring, which means they can be used in a new pool build or as a complete replacement of the existing device and wiring. IF you are comfortable soldering and waterproofing, you can get the kit with...

    Pentair SAM light fix

If you have water inside the light housing and are using new and correctly installed gaskets between the lens and light housing, then it is highly likely that the water is getting in from another part of the housing (like the back of the housing where the cabling exits). You also have to make...

Heater or No Heater for Houston New Pool Build

Hi Laura, Since you say resale value is important, you should understand that you're never going to recover the full cost of a pool installation (in other words a house with a $50,000 pool won't automatically be worth $50k more than an identical house without one). So that $5,200 heater...
