Compool CP3800 - Inside Control Panel Dead

Thank you SO MUCH for your adivse on this issue, as soon as I hooked up the remote panel to the main outside panel using the brand new replacement cable, the panel fired right up, just like you said. This prompted me to do a much more thorough inspection of the very long signal cable for the...

Compool CP3800 - Inside Control Panel Dead

Very helpful, thank you both for your replies. @Poolbreh - I ended up ordering a replacement 6 conductor RJ12 cable to eliminate the cable from the pool to the house (a long run, perhaps 50 feet) as the issue. When I hook the inside remote control panel up to the outside panel, should it...

Compool CP3800 - Inside Control Panel Dead

So out of nowhere, the indoor / inside panel that controls my Compool cp3800 system went completely dead / dark, no indicator lights on the panel. I took the panel off the wall and disassembled, nothing obviously wrong with the circuit board, wiring etc. What are the logical steps to start...

    PVC Joint Leak

Thank you all SO MUCH for the feedback! To give more context, I will at some point (in the not too far future) need to replace my rusted and badly aging pump, so I would REALLY like to come up with a temporary fix. If it lasts only a couple of years, I'm ok with that. I opted to try the...

    PVC Joint Leak

Pentair Minimax 250 - Transformer Burned (literally)

Thanks again for all of your help! What initially appeared to be one fat wire was actually a pair of very thin shielded wires in a thick protective coating. When the transformer caught fire, it (presumably) melted away the shielding between the wires and closed the circuit. I cut out the burnt...

Pentair Minimax 250 - Transformer Burned (literally)

Thank you so much for your help! I wired the new transformer according to your instructions, and the unit fired right up! That’s the fantastic news! Now a new issue has come up, I’m assuming that the wire that was damaged/ burned as the result of the transformer catching fire was the “remote”...

Pentair Minimax 250 - Transformer Burned (literally)

Thanks for the reply. ok, so connect the two stripped wires to each other, then connect the solid wires on the transformer to the wires coming into the housing. Right? Also, with AC there is no way to wire it “backwards” right? really appreciate your help!

Pentair Minimax 250 - Transformer Burned (literally)

Thanks for the reply Pool Clown. I did some additional research and talked with my brother who has some electrical expertise, and got a little further, see updated info below. Per you instructions Pool Clown, I put a meter on the wires coming into the heater housing, and confirmed its 220v...
