    Wrap pipes for cold weather

That is a good point. We don't often have more than a day and it usually warms up during the day. However, I think installing a power socket and using the tape is the only real way to be sure.

    Wrap pipes for cold weather

yes, I am looking at the pipe wrap but right now I don't have a plug in out there. ultimately that is what is best i think. Kind of guarantees it wont freeze, as long as the pipe wrap doesn't Crud out.

    Wrap pipes for cold weather

I have not winterized because I have a hot tub that is connected which I like to use in the winter and I don't have many trees. Also, my wife likes to hear and see the water spilling over from the hot tub and fountain. Thanks for the thread, I may winterize next year because I adjusted my...

    Wrap pipes for cold weather

Does anyone have any recommendation on the best way to wrap pipes. I live in Oklahoma and it can get below freezing but not too often. It is usually only gets to about 20 on a cold day. I have my equipment covered with tarp that helps, but i have a couple of pipes that hold water and I am...

Heavy Duty Tarp or Solar Blanket to keep heat in

The tarp is cheaper but it then sits about 1 foot over the water and I have two spillover sections that leave a gap. I wonder if I used a solar cover and a tarp if I would get double the savings of heat or if the diminishing marginal returns would be too great and I would only benefit by about...

Heavy Duty Tarp or Solar Blanket to keep heat in

Does anyone know if it is better to lay a heavy duty tarp over the hot tub or to use one of those floating solar blankets to keep heat in. When i use my hot tub at night and I plan to use it in the next few days I would like to trap some of that heat in there so I don't have to reheat all the...

    fixing underside of pool deck

Yes, I see your point. I don't have too much experience with the different products so that is why I ask so many questions. I do have enough experience to know that these many products behave slightly different. I am going to start keeping the water level a little lower, that combined with...

    fixing underside of pool deck

ok, I wasnt sure because I see these kinds of epoxy where you have the two elements and they get mixed when you are using them https://www.homedepot.com/p/PC-Products-PC-Concrete-9-oz-Epoxy-072561/100653148 That is more what I associate with a really strong fix.

holes or spalling in shallow end of pool

As a side note, I also have this issue on four step / seating areas around the pool that are at the same level so I will be able to do them all at the same time. Is this something I can do myself or should I hire someone. I am not sure if I would want to sand / strip a top layer and put on a...

    Hairline Cracks on Concrete Deck

is that cracking in the concrete, or just the cooldeck?

holes or spalling in shallow end of pool

Ok, I can see how that is actually better than trying to dump a bunch of epoxy patches all over the place. I will just have to find some other use for an underwater epoxy. I appreciate the feedback, it has helped solidify what is best to be done.

holes or spalling in shallow end of pool

Yes, that was the other thought. That section is actually only about 2 feet deep so that would not be too hard to do. Would you recommend waiting until sometime like October when we are not swimming as much?

holes or spalling in shallow end of pool

AND, i just think it is super cool that you can have something harden under water and I want to try it!

holes or spalling in shallow end of pool

I am planning on doing some major repairs in 2-3 years. I need to save up some money. So what I am trying to do right now is just the best I can to get me that 2-3 years. So areas where I am afraid there may be an issue I am trying to address. By putting epoxy on those spots I am just...

    fixing underside of pool deck

Issue 1 The water is not usually that high, it was from right after the rain. However, see side note below. Issue 2 Part of my problem is they have so many that seem to be similar. Which one of these three would you be referring to? 1...
