Thanks for the help. End up completely taking the grids apart and washing each individually vs. as a unit and that seems to have cleared things up for now.

One other thing I r,emebered. The last time I cleaned the filter myself (couple months ago) it was ridiculously heavy to lift out. Took 2of us to lift it which is very unusual. After cleaning it was better but still heavier than I remembered from the last couple of years of cleaning it.

Thanks. I don’t have time today, but will try to disassemble the filter tomorrow and take some pics. Assume you’d like to see pics of the grids without backwash and no washing? Anything else? Is there a way to tell by feeling the grids, like woukd they be hard vs pliable like they were before?

After weeks of not being able to get my pool cleaned of algae (following shock/clean SLAM), the algae was gone but the pool water was still cloudy and not clearing up. the DE filter pressure went high soon after cleaning it. I attributed this to the pool being dirty and the filter getting...

Pool is no longer green, but water still very cloudy. When I brush there’s a lot of white “junk” kicked up. I assume that’s dead algae? Is the filter just not able to keep up with everything and need to clean it again? If I clean again is it likely to build pressure right away like it did...

I don’t have a test kit like in the video, just use test strips. Pool is 25,000 gallons. this morning pool is cloudy but not very green so progress. ph 8.0 free chlorine 0.5 alkalinity 80 stabilizer 50 So need to add acid and more chlorine

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I need to go with a lot of chlorine, backwashing, repeat. His much DE do you typically put in after you backwash? water isn’t too hard

BTW, normal pressure after cleaning is mid 20,s
