Help! New liner not flush with cove

I had thought of that too, but it's a pretty huge area. I'm thinking I'll fill it up a bit before winter, then drain in the spring and reposition on a hot day. I'm not sure what else to do.

Help! New liner not flush with cove

For starters, I live in Maine, and the closest I'm getting to warm temperatures are in the mid-60's for a couple of days; after that it's downhill for temperature. About 2/3 of my pool will get direct sun during differing parts of the day as the sun moves. Ok — I have a 24' AGL pool (52" high)...

Filter Issues — high PSI & new DE gets discharged

Hi all, Looking for some help here... I have a Hayward DE filter. For the last couple of seasons, I think it's run at around 15 psi. Same for the first few days of trying to reopen my pool and clear algae. But then it started running around 25 psi, even after cleaning the filter and adding...

Need to replace skimmer on above ground pool

I have an above ground pool, with a skimmer that is getting significant cracks — enough that I can't use the pool. I tried patching, but no dice, so I think I need to replace it. Is there anything I should be concerned about or aware of before replacing? I figure I'd need to get the matching...

Had a drop in CYA... I'm confused.

Thanks Marty. I just checked it this morning. It was already at 10.5 FC and <0.5 CC. Last I tested it (yesterday morning), I had tested about 10ppm, and added enough liquid chlorine to get to 18ppm (Pool Math target based on what I thought was a CYA of 45. That was my last addition.

    Smart Switches are Awesome

Sorry if this has been covered, but I just wanted to give a shoutout — I recently installed a cheap Kasa smart switch ($20, Amazon) to replace the light switch I use to turn my pool pump on and off. It lets me turn my pump on and off from anywhere, as long as I have my phone, and have saved me...

Had a drop in CYA... I'm confused.

Hey all, I had my pool nice and balanced. Crystal clear. With the solar cover on, was adding about 30 oz of 12.5% bleach a day (a little higher than last year's average). CYA had last been tested at 40/45 when I first started opening the pool. I left for vacation for a week and threw in two...

Drain valve keeps leaking (and no pressure on gauge)

I just want to jot down my solution in case somebody stumbles across this thread. My Hayward drain valve (both the old and the new one) is actually two main pieces screwed together. All I needed to do was tighten those two pieces, enough so that I could still spin the valve. I suspect the old...

Drain valve keeps leaking (and no pressure on gauge)

This is the piece I'm using: 1-1/2 The threaded side is ~1.5" diameter.

Drain valve keeps leaking (and no pressure on gauge)

Good idea, but no — This one's a 1.5" diameter.

Drain valve keeps leaking (and no pressure on gauge)

Thanks! I've attached some pictures. Hopefully that gives you a sense of what's going on. You'll see the water pooling and dripping inside the drain valve...
