No neighbors that would enjoy your pool all for the low cost of, "dump this much chlorine in each day?" There is also the idea of using the trichlor pucks only while your gone (because, you know), understanding the slight rise in CYA.

A nearly-white finish (which they both are) is going to result in an almost indiscernible water color from the next nearly-white finish. In my opinion, the only real difference is what the finish will like when looking directly at it. Having said that, I can't imagine you could really go wrong...

I was in your position a year ago. After research here on this forum, I went with Doheny's Discovery. Our pools sound almost identical. As for the stairs and shelf, I just brush them off into the pool where the robot can to the dirt, sunken leaves, etc., every few days or so.
