    Weighing down pool cleaner cord...

This might be a unique request, but I’m looking to see anyone knows of a weight you can add to the cord of a pool robot cleaner that will force the excess cord to go under the surface of the water? The reason I’m asking is because when the excess cord floats on the top it attracts leaves on...

    Polaris 93/94/95/9650 Owners Club

As of Friday, I am now a first time member of the robotic pool cleaner club and more specifically the Polaris 965iQ club. I bought mine at Leslie pools for $1374.99 which included $225 off ($100 in store rebate and $125 mail in rebate). It also came with a 3-year warranty which was a big...

Pool Light with Alexa or IFTTT integration

My light burned out last year when I mistakenly left it on while draining. It’s time to bite the bullet and get it repaired or replaced. I’m leaning on replacing it because I am considering a light changing LED bulb. In addition I have been slowly automating my home and would like to start...

Bubbles Appear When Turning Pump On

I hope all you TFPC had a great winter. I have recently started to get bubbles when I turn on my pool pump each morning. I haven’t seen a drastic change in my water level, and my skimmer level is fine. Also, the pressure in my pump stays consistent and when I open the pressure valve there...

Another Testimonial of How TFPC Saved Me

Some of you may remember me from earlier this summer. I discovered TFPC after buying a home with a pool and researching how best to maintain a pool. I'm one of the lucky ones that discovered this system before spending hundreds at the pool store. It took me a few months to convince the boss...

    newb to the site

It may be easier initially, but once our CYA gets elevated too high it's going to be nothing but money, time and a lot more effort to keep it from turning green. 5-10 minutes a day adding liquid bleach will save you a lot of time, money and headaches in the future.

For those in the SE parts... how long do you run your pumps?

I run my pump 8 hours during day at 50% speed. And an additional hour at 100% speed when I add chemicals. Having properly balanced water is more important than how long you run your pump. Also, I noticed that running at lower speed catches more debris in skimmer or at least keeps it on top...

    Help with CH Test Reading

I find the CH test the hardest to get a reliable reading. I recently got a SpeedStir which I hoped would make that test easier to perform. Yesterday, I performed the test about 4 times and still not certain what my reading is. Using the 10ML sample, the sample turned purple at 7drops(175) then...

    Tips and Tricks

I went out of town on business this week, so it was first time I left pool care in the hands of my significant other. Since we regularly find bugs/scorpions in pool, she really didn't want to put her hand in the skimmer basket to clean it out (quite frankly, I don't really care for it either)...

    Circulation before Testing

Thats a good idea, for someone that isn't handy like myself they should sell something that lets you get sample from proper depth.

Need help getting started - Where to go from here

If OCLT is less than 1, CC less than 0.5 and pool is clear, you can let your FC drift down. Just don't ever let it get below the minimum for you CYA. Always best to try and keep it in your target FC level and test daily to make any necessary additions. Once your FC is below 10, you should...

    CYA before SLAM?

Glad you're starting to see improvement. Keep up the good work, once you're through this you're going to see why this method is the best way to maintain pool.

    Circulation before Testing

Each morning before I run my test(s), I let the pool circulate for about 30 minutes. While doing so today, I started to wonder if certain test require the pool to be circulated first, while others are just as accurate with or without circulation. Just based upon my assumption, I would guess...

Very blue, CLOUDY water - WILL NOT CLEAR UP PLEASE HELP ME

Ok add stabilizer to get CYA to 30. Once Fc drops below 10, test PH again (ph reading not realiable above FC of 10) Once you get reading, bring PH down to 7.2 using muriatic acid. Then bring FC back to 12 and SLAM.
