Skimmer Sock stuck somewhere in line

So I noticed that not long after I last posted that the pump basket was only half full, so I shut everything down for a few days until I had time to look at it more closely. I thought it might be that air was getting in on one of the valve covers that I removed the other day, but I put some suds...

Skimmer Sock stuck somewhere in line

Hmmm, that's a great idea! I was looking into the skimmie sock lock that is a handle that attaches to the basket over the sock. But I may just just get the grate. https://theskimmie.com/products/the-skimmie-sock-lock

Skimmer Sock stuck somewhere in line

Me too! I usually have a rock at the bottom the basket and accidently threw it out when changing the sock. I didn't replace the rock and I guess it just came loose from the basket when the pump was off?

Skimmer Sock stuck somewhere in line

Got it! Finally! Took the top of the valves off as you suggested and ran a hose down as far as it would go, about 2 feet or so. Turned on the water. nothing came back up through the skimmer. Then put the shop vac in the skimmer and sucked some water up; nothing. Went and bought a Drain King...

Skimmer Sock stuck somewhere in line

I heard the pump making a loud unusual sound and went to check it and the pump filter basket was almost empty. After shutting everything down I checked the skimmer and the sock (hair net) was missing. I ran water from a hose through the pump towards the skimmer and nothing. I tried to run a...

    IntelliChlor only lasted two years

Since it has been a while, I wanted to update this post with the resolution I received from Pentair. After sending in my pool store test results as requested by Pentair (see previous post), I received an email back that said they were sending a new unit out under warranty. It arrived while I was...

    IntelliChlor only lasted two years

My last cell lasted 6 years. This year when I added salt I noticed that the salt level reading was about half of my Taylor kit reading and cell light was not on lit. I replaced the flow switch twice - first with after market and second time with pentair switch. I also ran diagnostics on the swg...

    IntelliChlor only lasted two years

You're correct; according to the website it says "Intellichlor Salt Chlorine Generator (without Power Center)". The representatives that I have spoken to have stated "60 days" and pass me on to the warranty department where the phone is never answered. Sorry, hope I am not hijacking this thread...

    Intellichlor installation

I installed my IC40 in April, 2021 and it hasn't been work since I first tried this April, 2023. I replaced the flow switch and when that didn't work, I called Pentair and was told the cell was bad but was not covered under warranty because I installed it myself. They stated the self installed...

Installed new flow switch on IC40 and doesn't appear to be working

Hmmm, maybe I'll try to green with the white instead of the black. Unless that can mess up the electronics. The pentair switch is probably best way to go; I was just trying to save some money. Thank you.

Installed new flow switch on IC40 and doesn't appear to be working

The SWG was reading about half of the salt as my Taylor kit so I ordered an after market flow switch and just replaced it earlier this morning. There are two things going on. First, prior to replacing it, the minimum flow to get a green light on the SWG was 1550; now it takes 1800 to get green...

    Cleaning SWG with Muriatic Acid

No, nothing different than I had been using the last 2-3 years since I started taking care of the pool. That's kind of why I was wondering if it has a shelf life and I got an old bottle. We did get much, much more rain this year and I did a few partial drains to keep the water level correct.

    Cleaning SWG with Muriatic Acid

Great, thank you so much. I will order the thermistor.

    Cleaning SWG with Muriatic Acid

Oh, wow, thanks! I will not try to clean it that way anymore. For some reason I thought that was the way to clean it and that the plates were fragile. So scaping the scale off the plates or using strong blast of water are the best ways? And vinegar is okay to use? And regarding the low salt...
