    Controlling Green Algae

Maddie, as always appreciate it, I replaced capacitor and the pump is back online. Was offline for two days that were not too sunny. Today is very hot and sunny, so glad it is all back working normally and the pool is sparkling blue with plenty of FC. ! I have inherited a pretty decent...

    Controlling Green Algae

Wow, such a wealth of information.....Thank you so much folks! @jimbethesda I like " I spend maybe 20 mins a week on my pool." That tells me I am doing something incorrect, as I spend more than that every day to clean, and running vacuum to keep clearing that algae constantly. Do you guys buy...

    Controlling Green Algae

Maddie, Thank you so much for your explanations, and that makes sense. I went ahead and performed SLAM using Cal Hypo and maintain FC above 20ppm now, and it does work, added some more Cal Hypo today and it works....no green algae starts to build up on the walls of the pool. I retested CYA...

    Controlling Green Algae

Thank you all for fast responses. Maddie, I think you are right on the point. I really failed to keep inline with that chart. Per that chart, comparing to liquid chlorine, I need a minimum of 4 FC and target is 6-8 FC. The following are measurements using TF-100 FC - 3 CC - 0 pH - 7.5 TA - 80...

    Controlling Green Algae

Polaris 280 not moving and sitting on a front wheel

Hi Marty, unfortunately I did not learn about SLAM process until TFP. So instead of doing a SLAM process, I went to Leslie's Pool Store, and they gave me quick treatment medicine system they call Green to Clean. It consisted of adding Green to Clean powder that apparently feeds algae, then...

Polaris 280 not moving and sitting on a front wheel

Thank you folks, appreciate for great insights. Marty, took me a couple of months of trial and error and following a pool store Green to Clean methodology to normalize all of my water readings. Now I am on a weekly maintenance schedule and following TFP has been very helpful....I realize people...

Polaris 280 not moving and sitting on a front wheel

Hi Kim, Thank you for the warm welcome. I will fill the signature shortly. I have a DE Filter and it is clean. Not only I backwashed it a couple of times in the past two months, I also opened it and checked to insure no wholes, washed and put DE back in. I needed to do it as I had a green...

Polaris 280 not moving and sitting on a front wheel

Hello all. Being new to a pool after purchasing a house with a pool 2 months ago, I have been lucky to learn a lot of tips and tricks on this site, but now I am lost as to what to do to get the Polaris 280 moving in my pool. I have been a few times to Leslie's Pool store and had the Polaris...
