New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

So far I haven't seen the XLS climb a vertical wall (or steps) so I went ahead and brushed them yesterday.

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

Ran my XLS again today. Axel was set all the way to the right, which had it going in large circular patterns. For my pool, this resulted in a rather chaotic cleaning, but it did seem to cover most if not all of the pool, and it never got "stuck" that I could tell. Also, I was able to lift the...

    Interested in the Breeze XLS

I suggest reading this thread: new-aquabot-rapids-xls-and-4wd-t57246.html and watching it for videos to be posted in the next few days. We are learning about the differences in these units right now as they are fairly new.

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

I probably won't be able to try mine again this eve due to storms. But I should add that the XLS did climb the 45's, but as it would hit the incline, one wheel hits first and this causes the unit to turn to square up with the wall, throwing it off the path it was previously on. I could be...

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

I'm not sure but I think the thing that was causing mine the most trouble is that the walls on the deep end are all sloped. The cross-section looks like this (though not quite so steep): ----- | | \ \ \ \_______________ I think the key to...

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

Well I got my XLS today and excitedly dropped her in the pool and got her running. Sadly, she quickly got into a repetitive pattern due to being unable to traverse the ridge where the shallow end begins to ramp down toward the deep. I tugged the cord to adjust the pattern, and that worked --...

New AquaBot Rapids XLS and 4WD

Took a chance and ordered the Breeze XLS. Should arrive tomorrow. This will be my first experience with an automated cleaner. Last summer I cleaned it manually. I did inherit an old Polaris pressure cleaner with the pool, but I couldn't get it to work and my booster pump makes awful noises...

Are you planning to sell these? Because I need one!

    Inheirited SWG Pool Cleanup Photojournal

No, neither my pump or SWG are on a timer, but yep I plan to put both on it when I have it installed. Haven't had it tested for iron but I did remove the stains with ascorbic acid so that pretty much means it's iron, right? I replaced my cell later summer after trying to clean the old one with...

    Inheirited SWG Pool Cleanup Photojournal

Thanks! Honestly I never really got the iron problem truly solved. All summer I was on a roller coaster of chlorine levels and every time it got high, things started changing color and I would have to re-do the process with the ascorbic acid & whatnot. I've decided next spring I will have a...

    Water in my electrical box...

So I met with the electrician and we're going to raise the first junction box up about two feet to a new post that will be added inbetween the black fence and the white railing. I wanted to close off that gap anyway. Also, he reset the GFCI and turned on the lights and they are working. So...

    Inheirited SWG Pool Cleanup Photojournal

Quick update: had to remove iron a second time and I'm already seeing it come back AGAIN. And I did have to replace the salt cell. Went with the Comp-U-Pool replacement. Seems to be working well. On the good news front:

Changing Pool Light in Vinyl Pool

    Weird spot on liner

Any ideas what this could be? Haven't had a chance to get in the pool to investigate it up close yet, but it has me worried. It's about 4 inches across, I'd say. From outside the pool, it *looks* like the liner may be a bit wavy there, but not sure about that.
