Does anyone know if there really is a major difference in heating and heat retention performance between a 12 mil cover vs 16 mil cover and Blue vs Clear? I've been using the 12 mil blue and debating going to 16 mil for better heat retention? But not sure if it really makes a difference ...

By eye it looks more then 18", but hard to tell without actually measuring it. Guess there isn't much I can do at this point except wonder and wait for better weather.

Has anyone tried installing the 1/2" drain plugs in the solar cover to let water drain through? Looks interesting, but haven't tried using them. Wouldn't you lose some heat retention? Anyway, looking for feedback. :) Thanks Rich
