    First time pool owner.

Welcome! You are in the right place. Moderators and people on here are great. I put my pool in 4 years ago. Going by the recommendations of TFP, my pool has never been slammed or shocked since the day it was put in. Pool store hates me but oh well!!! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️😂😂😂😂

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

So far haven’t had any problems but…I’ve only unplugged it 2 or 3 times. It lives in the pool most of the time…. Only time it’s been out of the water was to clean the filter. I’m well satisfied. I’m like Jim tho. I would rather it had a threaded water tight connector..

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Well…..Had the EVO614 IQ for a week now. I have to say that Jim is right on in his review. My pool is cleaner than it’s ever been. I’ve used a Maytronics with the pleated filter ever since the pool was put in. It done a good job picking up fines in my pool, but so far the fine filter in the...

    Rust on Top Rails

Thanks for the reply….All I seen in the warranty is it is voided withe use of chlorine salt generating system which I don’t have. Says nothing else about water chemistry balance. I’ve used TFP method since pool purchase.

    Rust on Top Rails

I have a 4 year old Doughboy Palm Shore 16 x 32 and the top rails have started rusting. So…..I went to the dealer to check on it and see if warranty may help pay for the rails. First question the owner asked was what is my CH and TA. I told her that the CH was 50 and the TA was 70 and they...

At my wits end this summer

With CYA at 70 in your Salt Water pool you should be targeting a FC level of 8-10 ppm. The minimum is 5 ppm. At 4 ppm you are staying below the minimum requirement for a CYA of 70. I would try to keep it on the high end 8-10 ppm, especially in hot weather….don’t take long below minimum to...

    Pollen? Mystery dirt.

KT….Here is one of the articles on about using DE in your sand filter. I buy pool DE at Lowe’s and usually add some to the sand filter about twice a year. With the use of skimmer socks I don’t have to backwash and rinse very often….Like I said above about a 1/2 cup is all it takes in my pool to...

    Pollen? Mystery dirt.

ktmo21…I live out in the country here in East Texas and have basically the same problem u have. The skimmer socks help. I use Skimmer socks year round and I’ve never had one stop up. I just check the skimmer every couple of days and rinse the sock out if needed, especially after mowing. To...
