We’ve been having such trouble keeping our pool algae free this summer. I’ll SLAM it, have everything clean and sparkling, then a few days later we have green settling back in.

Our FC is 4ppm
pH is 7.6
Salt is in range
CYA is 70

I’m ready to throw in the towel. Do we need to potentially clean the filter? Is there a secret I don’t know? Any help appreciated

The answer is always more chlorine. You should target 10% of cya value for chlorine. That is after your slam.

With CYA at 70 in your Salt Water pool you should be targeting a FC level of 8-10 ppm. The minimum is 5 ppm. At 4 ppm you are staying below the minimum requirement for a CYA of 70. I would try to keep it on the high end 8-10 ppm, especially in hot weather….don’t take long below minimum to start an Algae bloom..
