Size hose for pool cover pump

This past winter I bought the little gaint pool cover pump. With a garden hose I noticed the actual garden hose would clog on occasion. The pump does have a fitting for a 1" discharge hose. Should I try the 1" hose and what type. I see where I can buy clear 1" hose or the braided/clear type by...

    Pump taking awhile to start

Couple of questions, please. AG pool with a 1 hp AG hayward matrix powerflo pump. About 5 years old. Recently I noticed when I turn the timer switch on. The motor hums for about 5 seconds before it starts. I never noticed this before. Is this a sign it is going out. Also years ago I had a AG...

Camlock fittings for suction or pressure side.

I am using the GHT poloy camlocks. Some I have NPT then a brass adaptor. But they do make barbed ones in 1/2" and 3/4" barbs. And even 3/4" camlocks with a choice of 1/2 or 3/4 barb https://www.jmesales.com/banjo-3-4-in-x-1-2-in-polypropylene-cam-lever-couplings/...

Camlock fittings for suction or pressure side.

https://www.sealfast.com/camlock/ I have used them for years to connect my garden hose to the hose and no problems. Would still use the cheaper black poloy camlocks for the pool in 1-1/2 size.

Anyone ever used or see a problem. Would just make my winterize and startup a little easier. Thanks

    Air in line

Hi, This started when my pump was running for a day with the skimmer full of leaves. Anyway, we had a lot of air bubbles in the pump cover. Replaces the gasket and this solved 90% of the problem. But still have some. I do plan to try and replace the flexable PVC hose from the skimmer to the...

    Costco Bestway plumbing conversion

I think you only need that adapter if still using intex hose. Myself I would do it this way. Worked fine for me for 30 years. Just use flexible PVC. Easier, less joints, can expand a little so more freeze proof...

    Dumb Mistake with skimmer assembly

Also besides the other ideas. You could just wait until you ever replace the liner. I once switched skimmer brands and the hayward had a smaller hole. So just bought a piece of over sized sheet metal. Took my time and cut out the template for the hayward skimmer. Then just installed this...

New AGP with 1.5hp Pump - 2 intakes vs just the skimmer?

Thanks, Noticed it said to fill with sand or pea gravel. Does that add a lot of weight. To remove for winter

    Dumb Mistake with skimmer assembly

For now I would do the quick and easy. Unscrew your eyeball. Then from box store. Thread in a standard PVC fitting. Get a few 1 - 1/2" pvc fittings elbows . Will try to add some pics. I sort of raised an extra eyeball for a foundation. You would do the same but lower.

Hi, Noticed your pool ladder in the pic. Do you happen to remember the brand? Thanks

Variable Speed vs Single Speed Pump on AGP

One of the worst mistakes I ever made was following advice to buy a 2 speed pump. Ended up after testing just running it on high all the time. On low there was not enough circulation to keep dirt suspended in water to make it to the skimmer. Which also had less suction. To look good had to vac...

Timer stops when it hits off tripper

Yes, breaker off then try that. Just to note. These are still the best brand. But common to have to replace. I have had them last 1 year and in other cases 10 years with no problems. I always keep a spare in stock for my pool. Not a question of if, but when you will need it. Also if replace you...
