Blue, cloudy water w/ numbers in range - filter problem?

Whoops, I thought that it was best to start at sunset to help maintain the chlorine at the appropriate levels, but I guess I had better re-read! I haven't had to do this in a few years. It definitely helped me last time. I've got my current numbers, so will plug them into the calculator and...

Blue, cloudy water w/ numbers in range - filter problem?

My daughter cleaned the robot filter for me, but she said that there wasn't any sand. Yes, I have a robot. It is a Hayward eVac Pro I haven't posted in a year or two, so just realized that I need to update my signature, thanks!! :)

Blue, cloudy water w/ numbers in range - filter problem?

I just looked and I don't see any piles of sand under the returns. However, since I had the robot running, I wonder if it could have sucked up the sand? I will watch again overnight tonight.

Blue, cloudy water w/ numbers in range - filter problem?

Thanks for your reply. I thought that with my CCs at zero that I was ok. I will do an overnight loss test. I think I will also backwash and rinse again today, then I will also record the clean pressure today. Here is a current photo:

Blue, cloudy water w/ numbers in range - filter problem?

Hi all, You guys have helped me keep my pool sparkling for many years! I manage the testing and chemicals, while my husband has been managing the "hardware" (pool equipment etc.). One week ago, my husband opened the pool himself for the third year in a row. It was dark green on opening...

"Salt One" Pool Protect Product - What is it?

There's no website nor phone number listed. I can't seem to figure out the manufacturer contact info. Maybe I'll call the Sani-Marc people listed above. The stuff at least 3+ years old. Maybe I'll just toss it. I also wonder if it is a combo product -- stabilizer plus other stuff...

"Salt One" Pool Protect Product - What is it?

I've been testing and balancing my water using this site -- thanks for all the help. I'm now purging some of the old products that were left by the original owner (chlorine pucks etc) and came across a product called "Salt One". It says it is "Pool Protect" by a company called "AquaPro" in...

    main drain

Thanks again. We don't have a separate valve, so I assume ours is linked to one of the skimmer holes. If I recall correctly, the main drain worked one season, then we had a pool store winterize and close our pool for the season. My husband opened the pool the next spring, and the drain...

    main drain

How does one turn it on?? We are in the opposite situation -- our first year of pool ownership the drain was on and it isn't anymore. There is no suction through the main drain on the floor of the deep end.

Adding chlorine to a SW pool

Last year we had two episodes of a friend's child pooping in our pool. :( We didn't have to shock that much, other than that, really -- we had two pool parties (for my children), and shocked after those. The kids have fun with their friends over to swim, so it's the price I pay. Do we...

Adding chlorine to a SW pool

OK, I just finished testing: FC = 0 CC = 0 pH = 7.8 TA = 90 CH = 310 CYA = 30 The water looks OK, but not great. I can see the bottom of the deep end, but it doesn't have the nice sparkle I've had in the past. It seems dirty on the sides, my husband vacuumed a week ago. So, I decided to...

Adding chlorine to a SW pool

I know that now... sigh... :( When we first moved in, we really didn't realize what we needed to do to keep our pool water in check the first year. To be honest, I don't think we added anything at all and we only had our water tested by a pool store 2 or 3 times that year who just said our...

Adding chlorine to a SW pool

...OK, before I get blasted... Our SWG has died. We have a Zodiac Clearwater LM2-24. The superchlorinate button has been staying lit since we opened the pool and none of the buttons are responsive. My spouse phoned the help line and they told him to do a "reset". He tried to reset...
