LOL a couple bags of shock to start my pool over two days in the spring is a lot of trouble... sheesh. Its too bad everyone cant be like you. Try to imagine that there _might_ be a person or two out there who cant use a chlorine solution for one reason or another... nope, thought you...

7 or 8 months isnt an old thread. Who thinks about how to start up their pool in january? the last posts in these threads were from september. there is so much hate about baquacil here i thought i would share my experiences, it was difficult to figure out how to work with my pool, and any...

I am kind of shocked by this, i suppose it's because I am trying to help people who use baquacil. This is incredible. I spent about 30 minutes thinking about what the OP was asking and trying to help them. Every post i made today, trying to help others, just deleted. I thought this site was...

    Puzzled by Pool Stains-Baqaucil

Just a few observations from my end. I've had my pool for just over two years - it was built in '86 and the previous owner allowed it to degrade by the time we bought the house (reflected in the price, natch :) ). My pool had quite a bit of green algae when i started working on it - but i...

    AquaSilk-System Weekly Maintenance

Welcome OG. I wouldnt worry too much about a high level of biguanide. the only way to reduce it quickly is to drain some water from the pool. But outdoors, it will get consumed over time so just dont add it for a few weeks. I would recommend you keep testing weekly or biweekly. Do keep...

    Flocculant to Reduce Baqua Goo?

I use flock as a final clean-up step when I use chlorine free shock ( or Line Clean). I plan to backwash after every treatment. I also use pool socks in my skimmers to reduce the load on my filter. These help a lot but not quite enough to avoid the need to backwash after I use the flocculant...

Here we go again...filter pressure went crazy after farmer cut the field next to the pool!

Anthony, i posted a book in your other thread where i mention how much i like my skimmer socks. I've often debated using a little filter sand media in them in the skimmers as a pre-filter. I have not been desperate enough to try it but I wonder, in your case, if this sort of thing might help...

Cledee that's a beautiful spot you have there. I used to live in Groton, wish I'd known you then :)

OK, here goes. Unfortunately all posts about baquacil are replied to with "why arent you switching to chlorine" but Anthony I have been following your postings here to get some help over the last year and I thought I'd post up my experience in case it helps you. I have an indoor pool and will...

What do I use to repair this?

Is that grout, Anthony? If so, I would suggest you get a small grinder or concrete saw, remove all of that material, and regrout that area and any others like that. It is best to keep these surfaces sealed to keep water out - water intrusion leads to erosion over time, so you should expect...

Is this DIY or am I in over my head

A couple of things about tile. I am like the OP, not a pro, but I have done a lot of tiling (i really enjoy it). Tile and grout and mortar are _not_ waterproof. typically you want a waterproof barrier behind your tile install when erosion may be an issue. In this position in your pool and...

    Indoor pool refresh

Hi Allen, Good questions. I have no idea how old the liner is. We've been there two years, and the pool inspector said that with an indoor pool it can be hard to tell since there is little to no weathering. I am not sure there are no pinholes, and I would be interested in learning ways to...

    Indoor pool refresh

Hi tfppeeps, I am obviously new here, looking for some advice on my pool. It's a bit unusual so I thought I'd post up while I'm looking around the site and the web for ideas. I am new to pool ownership. My wife and I bought this house two years ago because it has a large garage, the 6+ acre...

    Hello from Richmondish VA

Hello everyone, I registered here to read and got ordered via email to introduce myself :). We bought a renovation project house 2 years ago that has an indoor pool. I am mostly done with the renovation and have been limping by with the pool but enjoying it quite a bit. This year I have some...
