At what point does a bucket test point to a leak?

Dead of winter is probably a bad time to have posted this :(. But has anyone had actual experience in having a small leak and had "marginal" bucket test results? Thanks.

At what point does a bucket test point to a leak?

And I might add the local fool store had the same results. I added salt and the cell operated normally. I also had low TC and CYA which aligned to the low salt and also suggested a potential leak. Unless a good down pour occurred that I missed! (but I'm at home most days).

At what point does a bucket test point to a leak?

Jim, salt cell level and K1766 showed same results. To be clear, the bucket level dropped 1/8 inch per day, the pool 3/8 inch, which is the 1/4 inch difference. Conditions over the last month or two would cause relatively high evaporation for us here on the gulf coast, but I tried to catch a...

At what point does a bucket test point to a leak?

My low salt level caught me by surprise a couple weeks ago (had not had much rain recently, auto fill on), and caused me to wonder if I have a water leak. I did a 48 hr bucket test with auto fill off, keeping the bucket water level about an inch below the rim, and submerged about 2/3's of it...

Repair my Polaris 360 or buy a robot?

I have had a Dolphin Oasis Z5 for 2 years now, and it has been fantastic. Many years ago I had a plumbed in suction cleaner, and I'll tell you there is no comparison. I think the model I picked is a little overkill for my 14K gallon pool, and it is heavy (this model has two motors, so it turns...

Pool Math CSI vs. Taylor "Watergram calculator" SI

I just installed the SWG myself recently and consequently have been doing a lot of testing. So taking salinity into consideration, I see we have accounted for the differences. Again, thanks. You've got me convinced..........

Pool Math CSI vs. Taylor "Watergram calculator" SI

Thanks Marty and James. That answers that! And thanks for all your continued support on this great website and app.

Pool Math CSI vs. Taylor "Watergram calculator" SI

I have always had the Taylor K2006 kit, and it includes a rotating disc calculator for saturation index. I always thought it was the same calculation as CSI done in pool math, but I noticed today the Pool Math app gave me a CSI of -0.44, whereas the Taylor calculator gave a SI of -0.11. Does...

New quartz plaster finish is mottled

Any other experiences and outcomes? This type problem has got to have a lot of past history I would think. Thanks.

New quartz plaster finish is mottled

Yes, a no-drain acid bath vs. drain and acid wash. Thanks.

New quartz plaster finish is mottled

I am waiting for my PB to return to finish up on a few punch list items, but to be prepared, I would really appreciate some feedback on the two options offered: acid bath and acid wash. They tend to think the bath does not usually work, and would prefer to bite the bullet and do the drain and...

New quartz plaster finish is mottled

Thanks for the fast responses. An update: water temperature reached 80F, so I did take my first dip (we Southerners are spoiled, I know). I did a lot of "feeling" of the two different colors, and basically the darker is smoother, and has the appropriate visible surface aggregate, whereas the...

New quartz plaster finish is mottled

I'm a newbie to this great site, good job folks. Just completed construction on an IG gunite pool with Krystal Krete Blue Quartz finish. The picture below shows the mottled appearance that became evident as soon as the pool water cleared. My PB is one of the most reputable in the region, and...
