Forgot to say, thanks everyone for your help. The water has been at the same level since we filled it so we know the whole leak problem was in the liner. Good thing we never paid anyone to check on the pipes.

Do I need to touch the TA or CH? From reading the Pool School article I think they're fine where they are? I'm going for a swim :-D

The pool finished filling yesterday and we've had the pump running since. I just ran a full test on the water. FC - 1 (had it 10 yesterday, goes fast with no CYA) CC - 0 TA- 70 CH - 70 pH - 7.3 Going to add a little bit of Borax to bring the pH up a hair and keep the FC around 2 until there's...

$3600 for a 27mm liner and installation. We got quotes from 4 different companies and they were all around that price. So much for not spending much money on the pool this year. :? The deep end is a few inches from full right now. It's filling faster than we expected.

The liner guys guessed 2-3 days. They also said slower is better as far as making sure there are no wrinkles. Not sure if that's true or not.

New liner dropped in with the vacuum going: We're filling it now and the guys are coming back when it's about half full to cut in the holes for the skimmers and jets.

We're having a new liner installed right now. When they emptied out the water it was obvious why we were having leak problems, there were several decent sized holes. Hopefully when this is done we won't have any more water loss. This morning: Right now:

We're trying to get someone to come over and give us a quote but we can't get anyone to call us back, I guess they're all busy. The original company was also booked up for three weeks. We tried running just the other skimmer and the main drain but there's air getting in so we can't do that...

Found a website that recommends a product called Fix A Leak, it's a product specifically for pools and hot tubs that you just pour into the skimmer. Does anyone have any experience with it?

Can we just close off that one skimmer and run the pool with the other skimmer and main drain? Will that damage anything?

Very sorry for the delay everyone, my only excuse is that we got very frustrated with it. The water is mostly clear now, we can almost see to the bottom of the deep end, and the amount of dirt and leaves down there is still ridiculous. We tried using one of those vacuums that hooks up to the...

We've been trying. Whenever we have a free moment that is not spent on the filter we're out there scooping, it's just that there's so many in there. It's also been very windy the last couple of days so there's a lot of new stuff getting blown in. With the new filter set up and working we'll have...

Thanks, I'll give that a try overnight hopefully. Alright, the good news is we were able to use that teflon tape to seal up our pvc threads, the bad news is I found a couple of other very tiny leaks in the old plumbing. One is a crack in the skimmer valve, the other is a threaded elbow joint...
