Hayward is saying water got into the exchanger, froze, and cracked it. The pool installation company says they bypassed the unit so no water would be inside it to be able to freeze or crack. Finger pointing everywhere and no one is going to admit fault. Not a good day.

Update. HAYWARD support says only an internal crack in the exchanger would cause this. Tech coming out Thursday. Why do I feel an excuse coming for why its not covered?

No I do not have a main drain(unless I’m misunderstanding the terminology which is possible). I was told by the small size of the pool that a skimmer and 2 Jets was all it would need. I hope that was correct from the installer.
