First test for salt with K-1766 kit, and I'm unsure

With curious curiosity, I did the test correctly today using only TEN ml NORM, and at 9 drops the water turned pinkish, and with 10 it turned brick red. So, as @Texas Splash Pat guessed, I indeed have 2000ppm of salt in the water.

First test for salt with K-1766 kit, and I'm unsure

thanks Pat I caught my mistake. I read "25ml graduated cylinder" in the instructions, so I filled it to 25 instead of 10.

First test for salt with K-1766 kit, and I'm unsure

Hello all After opening a brand new kit, I decided to measure the salt in my pool out of curiosity since my SWG isn't installed yet. From the first drop, the water turned milky white, and a precipitate formed (as mentioned in the instructions). I continued to add drops, and the water remained...

    Yet another SWG install thread

AE You have me intrigued with this automation of yours. Is the only thing needed that little Shelly box with the 7 terminals? I assume not, and that something else is needed. How do you control it?

Circupool RJ-60 install pictures & process

Oly I have an rj-45 on its way, so I decided to peruse the swg forum for insight. Can you kindly elaborate on your last sentence? Why would any of us need a cell bypass unit? My swg will go on a straight line of pvc out of the filter to the return lines, so should I consider using unions as well...

The Cal hypo scoop - is it volume or mass?

Good morning This is a dumb question, but it shall get asked. Buckets of cal hypo or any chlorine come with a blue scoop that's marked with grams and ounces. My brain tells me that those markings are volume and not mass. Right? I ask because the poolcalc gives you the option of adding...

Good test values, still occasional light algae dusting

hey red-bearded one. In dealing with a similar issue to the one from this post, I came across your comment above, and I ask why you separate the 8 hours of high speed into 2 slots of 4 hours. Is there a specific reason for doing that way versus running the 8 hours straight?

Neverending algae stains along bottom of walls

Yup, that's why I go in there. And to return the Perfect Weekly that I bought... DOwn here, each jug climbed up to $6.40 or so per jug. And do you think that it will come down?? Nope.

Neverending algae stains along bottom of walls

thank you @Katodude and @Newdude I really appreciate your points. I have come to live with the fact that the recommended FC minimum does not work for my pool, so I've always had to stay at an FC of +2 or 3 above. It looks like I will have to go to +4 or +5 to adapt to what's happening. As...

Neverending algae stains along bottom of walls

It's green algae that I can brush off if I get in and scrub with a brush face to face. Or if I scrub them with a puck. However, they return 2 days later. I'm going to try this: 1. Run the pump overnight for 2 or 3 days at a low speed for a total of 24 hours - 4 ar high speed and the rest at a...

Neverending algae stains along bottom of walls

Kato My wife took rhe bottle to the store, and since it comes sealed, they refunded it - a small victory. Your second point is duly noted; I knew that, but I caved in at the register, like a fool. What can I do about my never-ending algae spots at the bottom and middle of walls? My pump...

Neverending algae stains along bottom of walls

good afternoon I resurface this thread because my battle with those wall stains continues. I brush daily, and when I get in, I brush by hand. The water looks immaculately clean and delicious. My numbers from an hour ago are: FC 5.5, ph 7.5, TA 60, CYA 40, and CH 275. I made the mistake, yes I...

suggestions for brand of replacement and segmented suction hose

Thanks aj Good point. I've looked at different ones in amazon and ebay, and sure, they all look the same and will work the same. I was just curious is anyone had a good experience (durability and price) with a particular brand or store.

suggestions for brand of replacement and segmented suction hose

Hello As the title says, I need to replace some of the 4 foot segments of my Navigator cleaner, and I ask for suggestions on affordable but good hoses that will last. Thanks
