Skimmer door is missing back foam...suggestions

Hello The door to my skimmer area, that has a name that I can't remember, is missing the foam backing so the flapping door remains open all the time because of its weight. 1. Is this ok? I assume not since debris will flow out when the pump is off. 2. If not, what can I put behind it to get...

Guidance with Posiflo PTM135 canister filter

Right So, insert the washer into the screw of the band, and then the nut obviously. And that helps with avoiding deformity and tightening?? Ok. Thank you

Guidance with Posiflo PTM135 canister filter

Well said Can you elaborate on the brass nut and washer? I assume that the washer goes first and then the nut?

    SWG Prepurchasing questions.

I second genereleser's recommendation, as was said to me. Despite the flow switch that you will install for the SWG, it continues to produce chlorine and hydrogen gas. If there truly is no flow, the gas will accumulate, expand, and possibly burst a pvc pipe or the swg. So you want to make sure...

    SWG Prepurchasing questions.

My pool also holds 16k gallons of water, similar to yours, and I also researched it to death. After many recommendations, I got the RJ45, and it's been working great. Like @PoolStored said, for $10, you're getting more production and control over your SWG. Nice job with the piping and the board...

Guidance with Posiflo PTM135 canister filter

Good morning I inherited this filter when I bought the house 13 years ago, and I think that I've been "using" it wrong. My model, as shown in the picture, has 3 aluminum rings that secure the 3 plastic segments. Two of the rings have the nut on them, and one has the black knob. For ease of...

Thread on the filter clamp seems to have stripped

Nope. The ring clamps have different circumferences, probably, and thus the different part numbers. I swapped the nut screw with the plastic knob screw for now, and will order a new knob screw for $17 or so vs $180.

Thread on the filter clamp seems to have stripped

Hello After a good filter cleaning, I discovered that the thread on the bottom metal clamp of my filter housing is stripped at the point of tension. I can keep screwing past it without the clamp in place and with tension, but at the point of tension it just spins. The parts list shows that the 2...

    Chlorine test = scratching head

brilliant!!! Brilliant and many thanks for this. There's nothing like a graph to perspectify things, that's right, perspectify. In your instructions for the pool math app, I assume that you meant to enter a "2" in the box labeled "24 hour SWG output", no?

Thanks a lot New I read your reply thrice, and I think that I understood it, but I humbly ask if you can reword it to make sure I grasped your advice fully.

    Chlorine test = scratching head

I got 11.5 with my swish. They sit atop my 3 year old LG fridge, and I don't feel heat since it probably radiates out of the sides. But I get your point.

    Chlorine test = scratching head

A swish test. Hilarity. Leslie's now uses the test strips, so perhaps their accuracy increased....1%??? Is that film that strong that fc over 11 won't kill it? Wow Thanks for the help. I turned down the swg to 55%, and I'll check the chlorine in 2 days.

    Chlorine test = scratching head

Good Sunday to all I just did 2 chlorine tests, and it is well over 10; I stopped at 22 drops. I haven't added chlorine in a while, and my swg runs 6 to 7 hours at 80%. There have been a day or 2 when the pump didn't run, and we've had rain for 4 days now. The reagents for that test expired this...

Price of liquid chlorine at Shmeslies

Hello to all I just paid $9 for a 2.5 gallon refill of chlorine at the store that rhymes with Shmeslies. Wow. It used to cost close to 5, before hurricane X supposedly destroyed a chlorine plant near Louisiana. Is there a cheaper solution somewhere else in South Florida? The lady at the store...

Hello all The cord of my explorer remains tangled and seems to get worse weekly. I laid it out straight under the sun 1 day, but that did nothing. Any suggestions?

Unrecognizable part found at the bottom of the pool

thanks wire I did that on the last installation. I was able to push the pegs fully through, and I could pinch them with 2 fingers while inside to pull them all the way through. I flattened the flap a bit, and I have spoken with Maytronics, but I'm curious as to the shape of a new one - is it...

Unrecognizable part found at the bottom of the pool

Thanks James. It just fell again after having fixed it before posting. Can/should I run the robot without the part on? It just won't climb, right? EDIT - it does climb. The pegs look alright to me, but you probably know better. I bought it in April of 22, so I suppose it's still covered. Would...

Unrecognizable part found at the bottom of the pool

Ok, my woes continue with repeated findings of the part at the bottom of the pool AFTER having seated the part in correctly an pulling on the pegs all the way through. After installing it, I notived that it has quite a C shape to it; you can see it in both pictures. I pushed on one side with a...

Unrecognizable part found at the bottom of the pool

I put it on making sure to push the pegs in, and it looked set. I put the robot in the water, and it came off within minutes. Did i install it incorrectly somehow? EDIT - I found other threads about it, and i will follow those instructions - to pull the pegs with pliers to establish a good...

Unrecognizable part found at the bottom of the pool

Hello all I found this minutes ago on the pool's floor, and I can't see where it belongs. It's either from my Betta solear skimmer, or my Explorer 30. Looking at both devices, I can't easily tell. Might someone know? Thanks
