Is Hayward sp2302 vs pump sufficient for solar panels?

Hi all, I'm trying to determine if my current pump (1.5 hp Hayward sp2302 maxFlo VS) is sufficient to push water through solar panels located approximately 45 foot (w/ 20' rise) away from pump... Any thoughts? Thanks, Matt

Can you operate the cleaner without a back up valve?

I just used a small piece of hard plastic hose to join the 2 sections. I no longer had a swivel... I ran it that way for about 6 months before I bought a new Polaris and replaced the old hose.

Hayward Heat pump - with filter running

Just to clarify, when you say "filter must be running", you mean the pump, correct? Your heat pump doesn't need to be on all the time for efficiency, but it is most efficient if running during the hottest time of the day. It only needs to be on long enough to get your water to the desired...

DE back in pool with Pentair Quad 100 sq ft filter

I've got a Hayward SP2302VSP pump and a Pentair 188594 100 Sq ft Quad DE filter. When the pump runs at full speed (3k rpms), I get DE and debris back in to the pool. Seeds, etc.... It clogs up the filter on my pressure side cleaner hose pretty quick (less than 60 seconds). I lowered the...

Advice on new pressure side booster pump

I've got the boost-rite and I replaced a pump similar to yours (maybe the same, can't recall the exact model number) and it was a huge reduction in noise and immediately started saving me $$$ on my energy bill. Mine pushes an old 280 around as well.... -Matt

Can you operate the cleaner without a back up valve?

I run my Polaris without a backup valve and it works fine. It actually works better than it does with the valve in place... I can't see any way it could possibly damage the pump or cleaner.... My pool doesn't have any trouble spots, so I don't need to worry about it getting stuck. If I had a...

Did StripQuik just destroy my filter and pump?

I'm confused. Why do you need to fill the pump basket with water after you backwash? Is it losing prime every time you shut off the pump? Where does your backwash hose/pipe go? That is where the water went... Some people have a hose run out in to their yard and some people have it piped...

    air pockets forming

No worries... Yes, you can leave it sitting on the floor. Just the one light in the pool?

    air pockets forming

Your lights and pump are on the same breaker? Either way, it shouldn't matter. Just make sure the light switch is off and turn the breaker back on. You can leave the light sitting on the pool deck (I'm assuming the cord was long enough to do that). Just make sure the light doesn't get turned on...

    air pockets forming

I think that is the same light I have. You just remove that one phillips screw on top and pull the whole light assembly out. If it's anything like my recent SLAM, the back side of the light will be covered with green slime. Be sure to cut power at the breaker before you mess with it just to be...

Did StripQuik just destroy my filter and pump?

As long as your pump has prime (is moving water and water coming out of the backwash hose), I would just cycle back and forth between backwash (minute-90 secs) and rinse (10/15 secs) until the water coming out the backwash port is completely clear and free of foam/suds/bubbles/etc. If you put...

Changed o-ring on filter, leaks under pressure

Some filter o-rings do have a flat side. Is the new o-ring listed as a replacement for your specific filter model?

Did StripQuik just destroy my filter and pump?

I'm not familiar with Stripquik. How do you get it in the filter? Do you add it to the pump basket or something? It sounds like your pump lost prime if I'm understanding the situation correctly.
