    Replacement filter shorter??

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and used the first 3. Its been up and running since sunday, and so far no errors. Hopefully it holds out! They did say on the packaging they were a direct replacement. My tub is old so it just has a portion of the shell that extends back under the lip with the...

Used tub, up and running, numbers check?

Alright well I got my used 230gal tub purged with ahh-some 2x over the weekend. The first round got all kinds of gunk out! The second round only had a little bit of gunk. I skimmed it off the foam, and continually cleaned the sides and water lines until it stopped producing anything at all, then...

    Replacement filter shorter??

So I got my box of replacement jet parts and filters. I ordered FC-0303 filters that measured the same length as the old filters that came in the tub, 8.5” long. What they sent me is P5CH-203A filters. While it says they replace the FC-0303 right on the label of these filters, these P5CH-23A...

Hahah yea I just realized that after rereading through this thread! Im looking at both Home Depot and lowes’ websites and no stores in my area carry any liquid chlorine. So I don’t think that option is going to work. so far it looks like my shopping list is: Liquid chlorine: Chlorine...

Chemicals needed, what am I missing??

Thanks Richard! Yes I get my water from the city. I just assumed from what I had read the metals was an issue for everyone. Thanks for the clarification! When everyone talks about muriatic acid in place of dry acid, is that the same as what you can by at say home depot...

Chemicals needed, what am I missing??

Thanks for the reply Tstjohn14, I appreciate your input! You mentioned using dichlor only until the CYA level gets to 30 then switching to liquid chlorine/bleach. Are these the only methods? I can't just keep using the dichlor? When you read all the recommendations from the tub manufacturers I...

New to me hot tub, use ahh-some on untreated water??

Yep, I've decided on chlorine, and I just received the appropriate Taylor test kit. I've been reading through the sticky on "how to use chlorine in your spa". Which has great info on the balancing aspect, but for sanitization it focuses on the bleach method, and I don't think I want to go that...

OK, thank you for all your help!! Keeping in mind I have no clue what I am doing yet as far as water treatment goes since I haven’t gotten that far, which of those methods you mentioned is the best route to go so I can get started with the ahh-some on Saturday morning? At this point I don't...

    Smartphone Maintenance, tracking, reporting App??

I downloaded the pool math app last night and it looks like it does most of what I was after. I ran my first tests last night with the taylor kit but I'm not certain on my results based on the water I tested. But at least I got to try it out and plug them into the app.

Thanks for the reply! I will check out the PoolMath app. And yep I understand I still have to test and apply the chemistry. I’m just hoping there may be a great app out there to help me store and manage that data and recommend the correct treatments based off that data. Some reporting or...
