AquaRite 50/50 chance of reporting low chloring

So I think you are saying that each pair of wires drive the plates as source and sink (and then reverse polarity) and that the ground wire in the connector isn't connected to the plates at all. How is it possible that the AquaRite only reports the correct salt reading 50% of the time? How is...

AquaRite 50/50 chance of reporting low chloring

I have a strange issue. When calibrating the unit there is a 50/50 chance that it reports low chlorine and stops generating. When I look at the schematic for the socket wiring on the AquaRite I see that that there are two channels from the microcontroller each drive a separate relay that powers...

My experience of time it takes to dissolve salt

Yes I realize that. But the meter shows Ccf. Yes. Satellite image taken close to 20 years ago at theoretically 1 inch per pixel. It was covered by a solar blanket at the time. I don't have a picture without it.

My experience of time it takes to dissolve salt

My water bill is in Ccf (748 gallon) increments. Not sure what the accuracy is, and I would guess that it's rounded up. So that isn't likely to result in a much better measurement than 10-12k gallons as far as accuracy is concerned. The previous and current reading value is in Ccf. It possibly...

My experience of time it takes to dissolve salt

I did consider the potential for other variables on the reading accuracy of the tests, such as water temperature, TDS, CC, FC, Ph, etc which is why I'm doing this salt addition and multiple measurements of salinity all while all other factors, including wind and weather, are stable. The only...

My experience of time it takes to dissolve salt

My pool has an in-ground pop-up head cleaning system. The pool is about 11K gallons. The filter is a StaRite System 3. The pump is single speed WhisperFlow and has enough pressure and rate of water flow to operate my OLD Caretaker in-floor cleaning system at 10-12 PSI in the 5-port valve (should...

Pool Math App for Windows - How to add test results?

I downloaded this for the first time today and am trying it out. I can log additions, but I don't know where to add test results. Latest test for all categories shows "--".

Broken pump motor, replace or upgrade suggestions?

Valve actuators wouldn't work anyway. For circulation without the in floor cleaning, the valves needs to be turned part way between pool and spa so that the spa receives more water than is pulled from it so that the spa spill over into the pool keeps the spa from completely draining. Of course...

Broken pump motor, replace or upgrade suggestions?

I also want to add that none of my valves are electronically controllable and I don't want them to be. I don't want yet another thing that can break or needs periodic replacement or continuing maintenance. And trying to set up some kind of automatic thing that will turn valves on and off to...

Broken pump motor, replace or upgrade suggestions?

It looks like Vgreen has a control panel. I'm also concerned about any pump that has a control panel on it. My pool equipment sits in full sun most of the day in the middle of a south western dry desert where it gets to over 110 degrees F for several days each summer. I have to replace pressure...

Broken pump motor, replace or upgrade suggestions?

So I have a Whisperflo 1 HP pump and the motor finally gave out after more than 10 years of service running 6-8 hours a day. I need to either replace the motor or replace the entire pump and I wonder if someone could advise me. I'm an electronic and software engineer, and know almost nothing...

AquaRite issue, after cleaning the cell it reports lower salt level than the pool has

The meter I'm using has an accuracy of +/- 3% amps and +/- 0.5% volts and 0.8% ohms. So if possible, it's better to measure voltage and resistance and calculate current with ohms law. Part of the reason why sense resistors should be 0.5% or 0.1% tolerance. With a known voltage and resistance...

AquaRite issue, after cleaning the cell it reports lower salt level than the pool has

So that means the Aquarite diagnostics are reporting higher voltage and lower amps than are measured by an independent VOM. Do you happen to know if Aquarite uses a current sense resistor that can be unsoldered and tested?

AquaRite issue, after cleaning the cell it reports lower salt level than the pool has

My clamp meter couldn't read DC current so I had to go get another meter. So on one polarity the amps reported by diagnostics 5.76A, measured was 5.96A. After switching polarity (main switch off-auto) the diagnostics reported 5.76A and measurement was 6.01A. So the actual DVM reported 0.2 to...
