How to fix this cracked coupling

There are total of 4 different fittings from Jandy Value to Pump, only the union on the pump end is threaded, everything else just glued using PVC cement.

Too much salt and cloudy pool

I would recommend you to get a TFP approved test kit, either TF100 or Taylor K2006, in order to do a proper slamming you need any one of those kits, results from test strips are not reliable and it cannot do FAS-DPD Drop-Test. Shock and Maintain Make sure you meet the Prerequisites before...

Cant stop leak from bottom of Hayward Super II

Yes 2 speed motor will provide you energy savings, but you need to identify the source of leak in the pump first, without that, replacing just the motor may not fix the leak issue, I recently replaced an Hayward Northstar 2 HP pump with Hayward MaxFlo VS and I am very happy with it.

Help with a difficult to keep primed pump

During the pump operation do you see any air bubbles in the strainer basket or any bubbles in the return jets? Most of the time it is because of suction side air leak, look into the below thread, it may give you some idea. SUCTION SIDE AIR LEAKS

    Zero CC but still smelly

My combine chlorine oscillates between 0 and 0.5, I too smell heavy chlorine-ish smell especially during spa mode(heated). I assume it is normal, at least in my case I have not experienced any high chlorine demand.

Replacement motor (or motor + pump) for 1/2HP Northstar

I agree, I wasted close to $80 in my unsuccessful motor replacement effort, the mistake was mine for not doing enough homework, do your home work well, I replaced my Northstar with Maxflo VS, its been only one week, so far I like it very much. Very efficient and quite pump.

    Chlorine dropped to zero

I want to highlight what Jason mentioned, you need to slam until you pass OCLT, without that you will be wasting your time and money. I would recommend follow the TFP slamming process to the word.

    Chlorine dropped to zero

Everyday my pool consumes around 2 to 2.5 ppm of FC, I target 7 ppm every morning and I make sure it never falls below 5 ppm according TFP CYA chart. Only two things consume chlorine; either organics or sunlight. Last time I struggled with high chlorine demand was when I had an algae bloom (When...

Replacement motor (or motor + pump) for 1/2HP Northstar

As a previous Northstar pump owner, I would say disassembly and assembly of wet end and motor is a PIA, lock ring type design is not DIY friendly, two of the pool technicians who tried to help me felt the same way about the lock ring design.

Romo's Pool Plastering - Dallas, TX

Thanks for giving a heads up, I got a quote from them for my pool re plaster, their quote was very competitive, both Diamonbrite and Wetedge confirmed that they are trained and authorized installers, I may need to get quote from others, that is very un acceptable customer service.

    PH always constant?

No, not yet, as soon as TA reduces to 50 I raise it all the way to 90. I added borates few weeks back, but I yet to benefit from PH buffering properties of borates.
