    Orange Spots

TA is 250 or more. It turned to yellow but would not turn to red. Stopped at 25 drops. This might be a clue

    Orange Spots

Ok on the pH. Well, I see why FC is over 10. I did a quick test early and stopped counting (I could tell by the color instantly anyway that I had plenty of FC). I just did it again and stopped at 50 drops, 25 ppm and it was not yet fully clear. Then I went and looked at my chlorinator and...

    Orange Spots

I just noticed small orange spots all around the pool. They will come up with wire brush scrubbing but not easily like algae. They are spread around, no metal found in the pool. Have not added water in a long time, otherwise, just rain water. Maybe 250-500 gallons about a month ago. Pool is...

    Chlorine depletion.

mknauss is right on (I know he does not need my validation, but for a Newby getting more than 1 person suggesting the same can add assurance for you). Once you get the hang of the TroubleFreePool way, it will be so much easier and less expensive!! I would recommend that you stay out of the...

Why is water cloudy if chemicals are almost perfect ?

This is the time when SLAMming something is a good thing. :) Hopefully, it won't take too long to clear up. I often see results after a little cloudy in just one day but usually like to keep it up for two days just in case my readings were off.

Why is water cloudy if chemicals are almost perfect ?

Hmm. How much FC are you losing each day and do you have a screen and do you have direct sunlight? For me cloudy means the FC got too low and a SLAM is probably in order.

    SWG Life

Thanks for the clarification. In the end, it is still a time-cycle rather than a power variation. I think the % setting throws people off including me initially.

    SWG Life

At least for my Pentair, the % output has nothing to do with how we would normally think of a % of power. It is either on or off. When it is set to 50%, that means it will run for the first 30m of each hour.

    Bluetooth / Wifi Worth it - Dolphin / S300 vs S200

Marina pool supply called me back last night. I decided on the Pentair Warrier SE at 699 shipped and no tax. In the end, after dealing with noses, pump valves, speed settings and it taking at least 4 hours to poorly learn our pool, I think this will be a huge upgrade even without the...

Pebble Wet Edge Signature Matrix vs Quartz

We used pebblesheen, have 7 kids (lots of playing) in a sports pool and I could not be happier. Pebblesheen is the small pebbles. I was concerned about the larger pebbles being too rough. It is perfect blend of grip, smooth and beauty...

How is your Travertine doing with your Salt Water Pool?

We sealed it last year for the 1st time. I think we will try another company next time. We were trying to give it a bit more shine/color pop as it normally does when wet but if you seal it too think it could become slippery. In any case, I debated over the same that you are when we built but...
