Had same problem. Went mad - Pinch Pool employees checked vacuum and determined nothing wrong with it. I changed wheel rubber, did not help, tried without filter to exclude that as problem, same. Mine vacuum shaft was worn MUCH less than one your picture, perhaps 2x less, yet after changing it...
