Pump or not to pump–the water behind the vinyl

will perform a bucket test over the weekend to confirm my suspicions. Currently focused on finding a soil drainage expert.

Pump or not to pump–the water behind the vinyl

I concur. The PC was coming to "pump" the vinyl so that it would recover its original shape. We waved him off when the vinyl returned to its shape overnight. Now, I have a leak–I lost an inch of water overnight. Now I have rerouting ground water and a leak to contend with. McLeod

Pump or not to pump–the water behind the vinyl

An update on the floating pool... The picture at the top of this thread evidenced the issue. The photo below is where it is this morning, literally overnight. From the perspective of looking into the pool, the liner has returned to its original shape without wrinkles. Hmmm? The liner remains...

Pump or not to pump–the water behind the vinyl

I've had billowing in my new vinyl pool several times and have chosen to let the water table subside. It turned out well—everything returned to form. This last storm (once in a generation, though I've heard that before) has produced floating vinyl beyond my imagination. See the picture below...

Water Table Issues with Vinyl pools. Who to call??

Thanks for the post. And this is why I seek expert counsel. How many holes need to be dug and where? Would a French drain work? Lots of questions. McLeod

Water Table Issues with Vinyl pools. Who to call??

I've been watching some YouTube videos lately on mitigating water table issues. The standard approach seems to be installing pipes or digging holes with sump pumps. In heavy rains, pillowing of the sides occurs on every side. I've discussed this with the PC; his answer seems too pat (dig a...

Opinions on whether salt will damage the stone on my hot tub waterfall?

Morning. I was hibernating. The process is called consolidation. A chemical molecular structure binds to the mineral(s) in the stone, creating a web or matrix that strengthens the stone. It can be used with a sealer (some products already incorporate it). On @Dirk, we used Prosoco OH100...

    A vinyl pool in Texasl

Dude The liner has returned to its installed shape. In a couple of places, the liner has jumped the track–an easy fix I presume. Since the bulging of the liner occurred around the entire pool to varying degrees, I'm going to guess it has something to do with the water table levels. The pool is...

    A vinyl pool in Texasl

A break in the storm provides me a moment to ponder. The concrete slopes away from the edge, and in the few places where it might not be perfect, it would have little impact. Nothing's changed in the yard since we moved in about four years ago. This event did occur the first winter we were here...

Could it not be hydrostatic pressure with groundwater moving against the sides? If that were the case then would not a french drain of sorts be worth considering?

Pictures sent. The pool water level did not get above the track. The sump pump has been in use since yesterday before the rain began. The pool also drained to just below the normal level
